wwww.weatheroutlook.com going for blizzards in London! having a laugh :L

if it does turn to snow on backedge it could be quite heavy and it will also be quite blowy too tho not blizzard. i dont think it will stick much tho, with all the rain first and surface temps will prob be too high for much to settle.

ecm, gfs and nmm all say yes for snow.

nae seems to be more isolated in its prediction of mainly rain.

12z's will be interesting

bring on the SCHNEE!!!

uppers looking better than yesterday

yellow warning of snow for most of our region woop woop

 I have to say I wasn't really expecting to see this......

There is a risk that persistent and, at times, heavy rain affecting many parts of England and Wales on Sunday may turn to sleet and wet snow later on Sunday over parts of central and eastern England along with southeast England. This could give a few cm of wet snow in places, mainly on higher ground such as the Chilterns and the Downs. This combined with the first persistent heavy rain for some time has the potential to give difficult travelling conditions. The rain, sleet and snow will die out from the west on Sunday night into Monday morning. At present the situation regarding any snow remains very finely balanced and the public are advised to keep updated with latest forecasts. The risk of any significant snowfall in London looks very low at present. In addition, strong and cold north or northwest winds are likely to develop in south-eastern areas by Monday morning.

Yellow Warning of Snow for East of England

Bedford, Cambridgeshire, Central Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, Luton, Peterborough, Essex, Thurrock, Norfolk, Southend-on-Sea & Suffolk

Yellow Warning of Snow for London & South East England

Buckinghamshire, Milton Keynes, East Sussex, Greater London, Surrey, Kent, Medway, Oxfordshire, Slough, Windsor and Maidenhead, Bracknell Forest, West Sussex & Wokingham

Issued at - 03 Mar 2012, 12:00

Valid from - 04 Mar 2012, 16:00

Valid to - 05 Mar 2012, 09:00

MetO have informed Croydon Council that snow is a possibility Sunday pm into Monday, but the models are adjusting at an alarming rate.

Hi. Yamkin, please can you explain what you mean by the models are adjusting at an alarming rate? Do you expect more/less snow, a longer easterly, or is there so much change it is all, as yet, undecided?

We no way deserved to win the game, but that's easy to say when you've won. RVP said it though. Liverpool were good though.

Latest NAE finally starting to show the snow risk for our region

post-7073-0-19873500-1330795563_thumb.gi

Could someone link me to those ECM snowfall charts please?

PS

NMM model similar to the NAE in terms of snowfall prediction, however the NMM clears the system much quicker at around 31 hours, whilst the NAE still has the system over East Anglia and the South-East come hour 48.

MetO are liasing with their USA counterparts regarding the solar storms which are effecting the climate, hence the models adjusting at an alarming rate.

Latest memo from MetO suggests snow from Sunday pm into Monday

Hmmm, rain all day and then snow in the afternoon evening, that's not gonna settle around London that's for sure.

Might be our last chance of seeing it this winter though.

Not sure what Easterly you are referring to but tomorrow the winds will be Westerly for us.

18z are a downgrade for snow across the board.

No suprise!

As Liam Dutton on twitter recently posted - mainly snow if any for highest hills!

I have a feeling just a cold wet day tomorrow! Maybe some sleet as the low pushes away, but even to achieve that you need heavy precip!

Liam Dutton is a huge mild ramper.

The weather boffs over on twitter seem to think that East Anglia, Suffolk and east Essex stand the best chance if any of getting snow tomorrow!

This is due to possible stalling of the low therefore the precip continuing in these regions pulling down the wrap around of cold air!

BBC graphics also confirm this too.
