I am surprised that this thread is so quiet given there is supposed to be a snow event today!

According to the BBC it isnt suppose to be a snow event today, tomorrow morning perhaps some snow for E Anglia, oherwise rain, blink and it will be gone, back to the Azores high next week

I don't know about a 'snow event' as such but there has been speculation about rain turning to snow as a little developing area of low pressure moves from west to east pulling in some cold as it leaves our shores - back edge snow... it's a case of looking at the radar or out at a lampost tonight (if you have one!).. chances are it'll only turn to snow on higher ground with more likely hood at lower levels the further east you are.

one thing's for sure we need this H2o in what ever form it comes :)

reports coming in from the midlands thread of rain to snow already happening in places

We certainly do but it could have waited until after the Sunday morning dog walk - two soggy muts, one wet floor and a bad hair day for me

Rain continuously all night and still one dog to walk. May be better to go now as look what's coming later:

I know we need the rain, but not all at once!

I think it's too marginal still, sorry

No snow event today!

The precip is also due to clear most of the SE except Kent by 7pm tonight.

Yeah, even the NMM which was still showing snow for the South-East this morning is showing an all rain event for us, EA definitely the best place to be although even here the risk if minimal. I think flooding could be the main risk, though having said that radar has shown rain over me all morning and it's pretty much dry

Snowing in Croydon, the kind we get in the summer.....you know crystal clear droplets, doesn't settle just makes everything wet and creates puddles of water ;-)

Same here, in east London this morning, been dry past two hours!

As flooding I doubt it... Radar shows rain over London but there's nothing falling.

Back edge of rain already in sight

The system is supposed to grind to a halt later. Looking at the radar it's not going to be dry in East London for much longer, the heavy stuff is nearing.

I dread to think what radar you are using. Certainly not one that records precipitation.

MetO are liasing with their USA counterparts regarding the solar storms which are effecting the climate, hence the models adjusting at an alarming rate.

Latest memo from MetO suggests snow from Sunday pm into Monday

Oh Solar storms ,this sounds more like it ,can you enlighten me/the forum with a nice link to this ,i allways told my mother it wasnt the Apollo missions causing the adverse weather and it was a tad more indepth ,bless her

the metoffice yellow warning of snow from yesterday still in place (reiterated at 1145 am today). hoping my elevation helps.....if you are getting snow at 62m asl then hopefully i will at 130m! plenty of other variables at play i know but i got a good feeling of seeing snow falling later....never had much hope of it settling with all the rain first and unfavourable surface temps.

as has been the case for most of the week....my fingers are still crossed!

Picking up husband from Heathrow at 8 this evening, wondering what the weather will be doing by then?

Raining pretty heavily in Surbiton now and not entirely sure that George the bassett hound will be that keen for a walk....

Another question - does anyone know any good flight arrival apps, weather apps and web cam apps? Trying to load up the new phone with nice weather etc apps, so all recommendations welcome.
