2.8c in Charlwood just down the road at 3pm. It was 8.4c at 11am so that's quite a drop. Not raining so hard now and those earlier hints of sleetiness have gone.

Heavy snow here for the past 15 minutes or so.

Really really? I don't doubt your word, but the NW radar is saying it's rain. I very much hope that it's wrong as I'm 15 miles east of you and much higher up. Any technical reasons why the radar can't see the difference?

Well its been a crock of s**t here, apart from sleet between 12-1pm, mostly rain. And it will have cleared shortly.

Right… now it's sleet in a freshening wind and MUCH colder — all in the space of 15 minutes. Why weather is so interesting — spring back to winter in half an hour.

The dewpoint is on 1ºC, but those cold uppers of —5/6º must be making the difference.

Should be heading your way, Iceni. A very dramatic drop in the temperature today, got up to 8C earlier, now only 0.4C! Hard to believe it was t-shirt weather yesterday, with temperatures up to 14C!

Some really big flakes coming down at the moment.

Ace! :good: Yes, now snowing properly.

Just so dramatic… last time I looked out the windows were clear and now they've all steamed over with condensation so the temperature dropped over a few minutes.

Looks like the bbc weather graphics were right yesterday! Potential for EA to get snow tonight!

Expect most of London to dry up in next hour - no sign of the ppn stalling over London.

If it stalls over north sea, EA could be in for a suprise in the morning

Here in Bury St.Eds its just teaming down with rain, not even sleety at the moment, must be too low down ir else we may have to wait a little longer for the colder air to hit us.

We had sleety rain here in Burgess Hill this afternoon. To get my fix I took the dog up to Ditchling Beacon. Very different up there with a wet snow /sleety mix in driving gale force conditions due to the escarpment. The small amount of my face exposed, froze, but otherwise very exhilarating weather!
