No precipitation here since 6pm, even before then only a few squally rain showers. Almost nothing all day. Just walked back from my local club, dry as a bedouin's sock. 4.6 degrees

As per normal rain fizzled out over east Norfolk so much for the 50-60mm we should be getting lol

It's coming back tomorrow to cover most of ea and se region for most of the day after noon. Another grey miserable & wet day then.

Nowhere near enough rain tho to come near to rectifying the low levels in our region

Yes been dry here since 6pm. Apart from an hour of heavy rain the rest was light rain and drizzle.

Paths and roads were drying out by 8pm... So much for the deluge

Oh and a balmy 4.5degrees out there now

Certainly no major puddles on the drive to work today. I know the rain is being predicted to return to Essex / East Anglia / Kent later, but I'd have thought we'd have had much more than we've received by now.

Looks like some parts missed the deluge while some parts got a soaking.

Don't worry about the low levels of water, rain is never to far away, completely blown out of the water this drought is.

It rained here from the early hours yesterday morning until after dark, but the steady rain would have done more for our water supply than the heavy rain that was predicted, saying that it did hammer down for an hour or so.

A lot of places saw 20-30% of their 2012 rain so far, in one day, maybe a sign of the lowish rainfall this year.

Over 14mm of rain in the last 24 hours and despite the fact we are now in drought, the country lanes were flooded on the way in this morning - what's that all about then?

First day off work in a fortnight and I was looking forward to going out in my new RX8 for some fun driving. So what does the weather do, it pours down with rain. Rear wheel drive and 230bhp and soaking wet roads just don't mix.

Yeah, we had some roads flooded around here yesterday. Its because the ground has been so dry for so long, whatever falls from the sky is going to struggle to be absorbed into the soil. So the water instead runs of the ground and goes where it wants. In yesterdays case, straight into rivers and roads.

Wow, rain for like 18 hours already, another 24 to come. It's been literally non-stop (although we did have a bit of snow last night), and it's already getting heavier for this afternoon. Miserable day, but on the plus side we desperately need the rain.

I bet it hasn't made any impact at all on the drought. Fully expecting a hosepipe ban this Summer!

Looks like its been thoroughly wet in EA and Kent with over 40mm for a good few i suspect esp in Kent according to the NW accumulation charts. Should help very nicely your drought situation.
