hi speed

thats what im thinking as well

some pretty unstable air wrapped around it as well

which i think could trigger some storms later

even now still hard to say where its going

but it certainly seems to be driving the weather at present

http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/uk/radar/

how close to kent are these

I think Keraunophile needs to do some storm chasing now. Exit Norwich, hammer down the A47...blum.gif

Looks like an interesting cell developing to the west of Norwich. Soon to hit Swaffham.

Gentle rumbles of thunder for the last hour in Ashford Kent, seeming to originate from the Dungerness direction.

As long as it's not the nuclear reactor.spiteful.gif

Nothing but rain here, but that was about as expected from all the charts. Good conclusion to the information provided by GFS and other meteorologists again!!!

Heavy rain here about an hour ago together with a few rumbles of thunder. Made the drive to school interesting. All gone quiet now with sunny spells again

So far, so disappointing today. Mostly cloudy, with just very fleeting sun. Not at all sure how the rest of the day and evening will pan out.

I recently had a quick read of the Midlands thread. They are not at all happy bunnies there, so maybe it's not so bad here!laugh.png

What is it with this country? Our winters are not cold enough and our summers are not warm enough! Four seasons? We only have one long boring season all year round.

Hammer down on the A47? :D Only until you get past Norwich then it's the curse of the 45 mph motorists until Swaffham :D

Yes, I've been for quite a few weekends to Norfolk, although mostly to a pub / b&b near Wells next the Sea. It's quite surprising how long it can take to travel there, but it's strangely relaxing, so I don't mind. I do like Norwich too.

Just looking at the band of rain in the North Sea, east of Essex. It looks to me likes it's intensifying slightly, so maybe east Suffolk and Norfolk might have more interesting weather later (clutching at straws probably)

It was close but not that close ;o)

Sound of thunder now becoming more frequent ... although not so close as before.

A late report from me, but intense rainfall on my drive into work at Heathrow at 5am this morning forced me to pull over for a few minutes. The wipers couldn't cope with it and the roads were soon awash in places. Nothing electrical though.

Couple of heavy showers here but no thunder...at least if the weather is rotten let it be interesting with it!

Maybe later....she says clutching at a big pile of straws! :)

Looking a little bit good for Norwich. Very muggy, very grey and the sun has made an appearance so that's good for convection I'm guessing. :) Plus some rather big grey clouds over SW.
