Just got caught in a rapidly developing monsoon, on a 5 min nip to the shop. Stair rods. No thunder though, quelle surprise.

Yup, been persisting down here now for over an hour. It was warmer and quite humid for a while late afternoon, that was soon banished as this front moved over us here, no T&L either.

Unbelievable views of the building storm earlier around 8pm, scud cloud like an american storm, coming right to the ground at times about a mile from where i was standing, I'm almost certain i saw some rotation aswell, I videoed it, I will upload later.....heavy rain now.

Excellent captures as ever AP, you're not wrong about the different cloud movements, especially for a few moments at approximately 40s.

Further to my earlier post, well the stuff from France has crept up on us, unforeseen by most in here it seems.

Is it and will it turn to Thunder? West sussex looking very wet for the moment and who knows, perhaps it'll end up a Kent clipper.

Same here, the wind was blowing from the east and then all the cloud stopped and started back in the exact opposite direction after around 10 minutes the cloud stopped again and went back in the other direction again!!

That was around 2 hours ago and the convergence zone is still on top of us dropping torrential rain as it sit here, I wouldn't be surprised to see flash flood reports from this locality soon!!

What on earth is going on? Wind direction flip flopping, convergence, chuck it down then gone. Impossible to work out what might be developing on the radar, or what direction it might be coming from.

Not very good as far as I know. Might even get to top up our suntans before long but don't count on it.

From memory, tomorrow (today?) is reasonable for isolated showers/storms.

Yes, we're being attacked from all directions. I believe, all of this is due to a surface low slowly filling over us and the lack of wind in moving the showery bursts along.
