Very cold, very grey, very wet.

Solid, freezing cold, rain. Nothing at all pleasant about the weather today, not feeling the love for how grim it is outside today.

GRRRRR!!! After a sunny start the sea fog has rolled in and temperature now up to 2.2c.

Yeah, I second all the disappointed folk. Still snowed off except today I had to go through the clag to find that out. Lots of low smeggy crap floating around (not talking about the toilet here) and temps even just here struggling to climb. The sun is trying to break through but it's going to be touch & go today...

Good spot SS worth keeping a track of for the start of November.

I tried this morning. 'Sorry, we're too busy...'

No gritting round here yet and there were some slippy bits. Highland Council used to be out with the gritters every day, October to May, whatever the weather; no more.

My Mum said it was lightly snowing as drove down the A9 through the Pass this morning. Been a chilly, damp day. I have my hot water bottle out!

Turned out to be a nice afternoon and evening with some fantastic late eveing autumn sunshine and colours, a lot more pleasant than the conditions earlier. Temperature near 8C, possibly the first sub 10C maxima of the season and the first since the 18th May. Not got above 3C at Aviemore today, possibly the coldest day here since April? Hopefully, the front will arrive much later tonight, allowing for an air frost here and I'm sure that further north another widespread frost is likely.

What a beautiful end to the day..... Drove my wee train down to Balloch to be greeted with snow down to about 2000 feet, Ben Lomond looked stunning in the white stuff :)

I'm sure the Bonnie Banks and hills would've been spectacular, especially with a covering of snow on the hills. Looking through the traffic scotland cams earlier there was snow on the tops of the arrochar alps at the rest and be thankful. Not sure whether there might have been a dusting on the Campsies, possibly a bit of sleet there earlier.

Bit on top of the Ochils today, good to see.

Bit grumpy about rain which was supposed to stay south of centle belt on yesterdays 12z's. It got here and was cold. Family canoeing day was a bust. sorry.gif

Seeing snow cheered me up though.

And a timely reminder to change tyres soon, thanks SS. acute.gif

Aye lorenzo, some good signs for a cold end to October but I'm expecting umpteen different evolutions of the high pressure positioning in the runs to come, it'll be great to have quite a potent early taste of winter but not so sure whether blocking could last into and throughout winter, would be quite happy to just have the temperatures just gradually drop through the rest of the autumn with some frosty nights like we've seen already and a few shots at some wintry stuff. Whatever happens, the conditions of the stratosphere and across the NH will make good viewing over the coming weeks.

*Another nice dusk this evening.

Sheesh what happened to autumn? Seems to have got booted straight into winter now, snowy hills, slidy roads, longjohns at the ready, stove's been on since midday the last couple of days. Time to stock up on the old amber nectar/

Well after a bloody cold frozen start, it turned into a nice afternoon. Spent the day along Loch Ness up to Ben Nevis and back. Very moody red sky out East when heading back along A96 to Forres.
