I won't even ask the question if the same applies to you then whistling.gif

I'm busy stewing rhubarb now, was given a ton of it this morning....something else for the freezer - I wish someone would give me a small cow or a pig..... puddings are sorted now for the winter but some meat would be nice for the main course, you haven't got any unwanted animals in the back yard have you coast?

....I'm thinking orange sauce blum.gif

Have got 3 chickens but they are old girls now and would be tougher than Coast's duck!

The ones in the field just off the A422 at Bancroft are not much better looking....

...makes you wonder if the 'artist' had ever seen a real cow ! Still they give people something to joke about Milton Keynes other than all the roundabouts.

Is it any wonder people round here go out dressed up in crazy outfits....by the way since the Smurf I have seen a Mexican man in a poncho and sombrero and a friend of mine saw someone who looked just like Charlie Chaplin!

.....and to think all Jimmyh was worried about working near here later this week was getting wet crazy.gif

The MK cows have lead a rather adventurous lifestyle, in the past they have been kidnapped and held to ransom, placed in somewhat compromising poses on occasions, and many times have needed repainting after someone gave them a 'makeover'!

Random question but who owns Netweather?

How much to you want to offer me for it then???? unsure.png

Well I braved the driving rain and scrabbled through the undergrowth to find my secret sloe stash location. Although a bit late in the year and not the best of years either, there were still enough plump berries for 6kg of the little buggers. The best ones were way up high so I decided to climb the adjacent tree, something I haven't done since I was a nipper. Now my climbing skills are still pretty fair, but I totally underestimated the difference in my body mass since I was a kid and now; when equated to the perceived strength of the tree branch, I made a fundamental error....

th_thbruised.gif

Anyway, I was recently given 2 litres of Gordons finest so I'm off the preparation area to make the 2012 vintage. I still have 3.5 litres of last years 'Appellation d'origine contrôlée' and I've just poured a huge glass to give me comfort and inspiration.

So I've satisfied my primeval instinct to be a hunter/gatherer now and I'll also satisfy my desire for a damn nice drink!!

Cheers a045.gif

So I washed and weighed the fruit, got the gin out from the garage and sugar from the cupboard. I took a swig of last years sloe gin and started pricking the berries. After 25 mins I'd done most of the fruit and thought I'd have another swig. I put the correct amount of fruit in a bottle, added the caster sugar and topped it up with gin. I then took another mouthful of sweet smooth nectar.

I then took another bottle and added the fruit and sugar, topping it with gin and downing another cheeky swig of last years brew. For the next one I put some fruit and sugar in a glass , topped the bottle with gin, swigged it and the took another one of last years brew. The third one was a bit more difficult so I left out the fruit and sugar, added the gin, swigged most of it and then had a small sloe one to keep it company.

By the next one I left out the bottle and poured the gin straight into the glass, putting fruit in the cupboard and sugar in the garage. I had a small one and then topped it with another sloe gin. I was really in my stride now so put the fruit in the sugar cupboard, gin in my garage bottle and then downed the lot with a sloe gin from last years glass and had a cheeky small nun to top it up.

By then I decided to swig the gin and the sloe gin and put fruit on the nun, finishing with a small sugar from last years garage and two more from the sloe gin cupboard. I might take a lie down before my next gin, sloe gin, fruit, sugar, bottle or nun....

Yes, I think that would be a very good idea, go and sleep it off Coast doh.gif

It went dark as night here about half an hour ago - the strangest band of cloud went over that looked like dirty smoke but it didn't rain, it seems to have passed now and the sun is out again.

Back to the MK cows, these mini moo's are very popular.....

Rain is good, we laid a new lawn at the weekend. So rain every day for two weeks between 7pm and 7am would be perfect. Thanks Coast. :D

Well there's a first! I hope it looks like a cricket pitch by next weekend CM, I will be in a place that hasn't seen rain for weeks by then, but I'll still be getting very wet.
