you can see from the pressure charts fi is on the 13th

The green one is going with it to a degree as well. In fact there are more going down than there are going up. :D

lovely weather today - blue sky, crisper, gentle breeze. Brighton beach this morning was great. Back home now, back to work tomorrow, boo. However, just set up youngest's telescope (pressie) in garden and managed to locate Jupiter and could see it qiute clearly along with a fair few of its moons. First cloud free night since Christmas that we have been able to use it!

Hopefully the neighbours will understand it is purely for star gazing!

^^ What a great present for the nipper AS. Be sure to look out for the Quadrantids Meteor shower in the next couple of nights, weather permitting of course.

I'm afraid I'm already the custodian of a 37 year old cob who is very much a single horse. Sorry to hear of the equine difficulties.

Your welcome AS. According to the Google Sky Map app I have on my phone ( highly recommended and free ) The Quadrantids are currently above the horizon looking almost due north. Alas cloud cover and appalling light pollution here conspired to make them invisible from my location tonight. Good luck for the next few night though..

Happy New Year all! I hope everyone had a great day. This morning we took the boys puddle stomping at Earlswood Lakes whilst they fed themselves with the bread for the ducks!

We took advantage of the strange yellow glowing thing in the sky and took my sister and her fiancé to the Bluebell Railway. My sister has lived out in Tanzania for the last three years and her fiancé is Tanzanian (he had never even seen a steam loco so you can imagine his reaction!) he is disappointed as he was hoping to see snow whilst he was over (he thought it always snowed here in winter - Dickens has a lot to answer for!)

Morning all, first day back??? :(

Clear skies overnight left a bit of frost to scrape off the screen but temps are a full 4°C higher inland at work.

Have a good one, whatever your day brings!

Just to go along with the general weather thoughts for the next few days, looks like we are in for a sustained period of dry weather:

MU_London_avn.png

Things start to change around the 8th with some light rain possible and more on the 10th, but that's as far as I'll stick my neck out currently. I can't see anything that suggests the white stuff or any real cold at the moment.

Good morning all. Nice to see those 2 stunning sunrise photo's, and yet Im just 5 or 6 miles south of where Mesoscale took his and the skies are a sullen slate grey. Not even a hint of colour.

Morning all

This weather is totally depressing, double figures for rest of the week, we seem to be in a period of such awful weather, none of the seasons seem to be conforming! I hope this is going to change soon!

Have good day if your back to work today, only a 3day week for most.

:)

John, please can you explain why these charts are good. Because on there we are still in the green bit and I thought we had to be under blue.

Cheers, me dear. :)

I think we were under the blue when he posted them last night! They have now updated to the 00z which put us under a lot of green :(
