Just been listening on the radio to the football, apparently it is snowing at the Madjeski Stadium in Reading? Anyone from Newbury/Reading area reporting snow?? Yes GTLTW, interesting local Brize & Benson has dropped off in the last hour, but we are dropping here now, its 3.7c. Easterly wind now, expecting further decreases during the evening...

. GTLTW looking southish out of the window seems to be a lot darker than anywhere else. Wonder of this has some hail in it. ...?

Not sure it will even get to us, I looks as though its drifting off NNW. Nevertheless, good to see the slow progress of the undercutting air taking place and the fact that the Surface feature is not diving south for a while yet, further aiding people's chances.

Sleety flakes earlier in Newbury confirmed by myself and PB so I can claim a snow day at least. drinks.gif

Latest NAE sees another downgrade with snowline a bit further east.

If your looking at the snow charts, then yes, a snow - rain event for us all.

However, digging deeper, the 850hpa temps and thickness' have upgraded a bit, and nudged west. I can only assume the WBFL isn't playing ball, or one other ingredient. Perhaps an improvement on the modified NAE later?

This might not be helping;

I did point out the 850's but seems odd why it shows rain, hope that can upgrade on next run.

We have had quite a few torrential downpours this afternoon mixed with hail,they are just like summer storms where you drive from dry conditions straight in to a wall of water,incredible. Have had just short of an inch of rain today and everywhere is starting to flood, snow my I have a problem!!!

4.4c, very dark and absolutely chucking it down. Our personal moat is back around the house and the cattle grid has disappeared under water again.

Looks like flooding is more of an issue around here, A35 is bad around the Kingston Maurward to Monkeys Jump roundabouts. I guess Winterbourne Abbas and Martinstown are going to vulnerable to flooding again.

4c here at the moment, dropping around 0.7c and hour at the moment. Dew point on the way down at 0.9c currently. Wind NNE at around 22mph and a wind chill now below freezing at -1.4c.

We've had 32mm of rain so far. It did turn a little sleety in the heavier bursts and can also report hail at around 3pm.

Yes it was drizzle one min then I looked out of the window and its snowing but very light and intermitent. Could do with that bright echo on radar to move north and west a little.
