TBH, I think Friday needs to be ruled out... Our block is far to strong to allow the Atlantic in like that..

Now don't be down about that.. The reason is where ever that low goes.. It could spoil a good easterly because it will drag in Mild air with it... So although we might see wales with 4" of snow or whatever it may be... I think we need an attack from the east tease.gif

Model thread typical.. Everybody having a go at each other..

completly agree wth that, we do not want the attack from the west to win ,yes we may get a daylike yesterday{some seeing snow most NOT}, but then its game over as the atlantic will prob dominate for at least 10 days, until we can get heights risind again.. We really need a push of cold air from the East, we all know that here in the southeast that our best chance of good snow and frozen land comes from eastern europe, scandanavia , or further afield Russia.

Anyone thinking this could be just a cold and dry spell?

The block is holding and fronts seem to stall too far west for us to get any snow.

I get the feeling that by the time any snow does reach us, it will be transitory as the block collapses.

No... We need to get a full on easterly then we stand a chance.. Look at the radar.. Those showers would be coming in nicely on an easterly..

Will those showers further up the coast make there way down or are we expecting some convection of our own later this eve coming across from the low countries.?

it's not showing on the radar but we are getting light sleet showers here, getting heavier and clouds getting darker.

Radar looks quiet. With the exception of some shower activity in the NE and the N.Sea north of tbe Wash. Seems to be heading in a Southerly direction, so perhaps a tiny bit of interest for later this afternoon/evening period.

The bbc this morning does show some snow showers in the central parts of our area, not just east kent or NE of our area for thursday.I imagine this is where we pick up more of a direct easterly flow, which does show this in the ukmo 60hr frames,i know they can be a bit hit and miss.Lets hope lucks on our side when the atlantic does nudge in and that it is on more of a southerly track and we end up with a real undercut for us southenersrolleyes.gif

My feeling at the moment. Things change at short notice - the North Sea can be a snow machine. But at the moment looking very dry throughout...

Sky's starting to go milky away to the NNE...How far inland will it come?

Edit: Hopefully right across EA and then onto London & the SE...

Yes, but this is not showing on the latest models.

Everything is coming in from the west.

Morning

After reading several pages this morning; and the obvious disappointment. I have to say the novices who joined the site recently for the 'snow watch' are 'our own worst enemy'!

I am sure there are a lot of people like me who have only clung on to every post that mentioned heavy snow in the South East and ignored anything else. I have even moved the location of where I actually live a few times in complete denial or just 'wishful thinking' depending on which location looked most favourable lol. I scour all the weather forecasts and only want to believe the ones with the snow symbol. So who is to blame?.

Just one major problem with that Meto Chart - Who would like to guess what!

It looks a great chart just viewing it but 1 vital ingredient missing I feel!
