18z NAE, Precip accumulations come out before the main output and these show a shift west of the precip. this alway seems to happen before these type of events, interesting to see what effect it will have on snowfall areas, if any.

All this model watching is nerve racking, miss the old days when you just opened the curtain and any snow was an unexpected surprise, obviously after scraping the ice off the inside of the window to see out first.

Latest NAE precipitation amount charts showing quite small amounts for our area i think, at midday for Friday - seems to be a westward shift into SWales and central Wales.

Sorry i'm not v good at copying these links on my tablet.

Wonder if further westward shift will make Friday a bit wimpish-like. Maybe i'm being too pessimistic

Using the formula 1mm = 1cm snowfall, I'd say 5cm-10cm widely is about right at this stage, locally more in sweet spots.

And listening to shipping forecast, trying to work out where Biscay was

Could do with a southwards shift really but it will not be known for certain until we almost at the event. This particular run seems good still but not quite snowmagedon. good.gif

The site is very busy tonight & I think they turn a lot of the features off at peak times to keep it running

One thing to throw into the mix is any snow will be blowing around in a stiff SE wind

still snowing?

Yes still light snow in Cardiff. however its stuck on cold sufaces so no real accumalations worth talking about, but nice to see anyway. Plus any lying snow will help keep temperatures down.

Does seem to be shifting west though AWD - another 24hrs worth of models to come yet as well.
