I'm not worried, Nick Sussex explained earlier, I'm reassured. I'm note expecting a significant drop in temps until midnight.

The main band coming into the far Southwest looks nice and heavy too. So far, so good.

As per my previous post and Weathermasters, for some, its a case of stand by your lamp-posts from around midnight if not before, re: the main event.

A slight accumulation has started outside RG14 so me is pleased. dirol.gif

Anybody got any opinion on the ECM output tonight?

Ian showed excellent forecast for Points West region!!!

Anyone else notice the "boxed" graphics for Monday at the end! Heavy snow AM and PM!!! But he didn't mention it, so much going on tonight it didn't surprise me.

I'm assuming there must be some confidence showing the heavy snow for Monday,

I think this scenario cant be ruled out.

I think thats a bit unfair.

Ian's forecast mentioned turning to sleet in Somerset around early afternoon.

What time scale would you say for the transition? and which run are you looking at?

Cheers

Karl

Light rain on the Isle of Wight - despite all the opinions and optimism I suspect we are going to be lucky to see anything other than snow on the hills at Butser some 18 miles away. The sea remains a huge pool of (relatively) warm water and I do wonder what the models make of this

Ian's forecast mentioned turning to sleet in Somerset around early afternoon.

But he did say he was not certain where the line of sleet would be?

Erm....the clues are in my post.

"Ian's forecast"

"Early afternoon"

"Somerset"

Of interest...

The main band isnt on the radar yet (as expected, circled as '1'), however, the 'small' occluded front that prceeds this (2) is actually really heavy and potentially more potent that forecast...

Thanks for the visit and advice Nick saved me a pm to you lol

jy. Just did your drive back down the A338 from Salisbury on the way back from panic buying. Went up by the hospital and down into Nunton. Moderate wet snow up there, but more sleety on the main road approaching The Stag. Bit surprised really, as it's not that far between the two.

And there's me thinking (2) was the main band!

It's gonna be a fun night :)

Moderate snow gloucester 69m above sea level. Settling on..........nothing.

Seems to be settling on the road during the heavy bursts..

I await next NAE update.

Me too. acute.gif

I await some sensible posting from all from here on in. Posts will get hidden, moved or deleted if deemed to be onions stirring. good.gif

I want this thread to stick to being on-topic, jovial, ligh-hearted at the best of times but sometimes certain posts from certain members can come across as sillier than some of AJs worst possible jokes. mega_shok.gif
