Just caught the edge of that shower, no more than just a light snow shower although could see heavier pulses further North and East for sure.

As others have said, our fun and games may come a little later when the winds start to veer more from the North Sea, the only problem is that weatherfront, the BBC weather graphics don't make for inspiring reading although they can underdo PPN amounts somewhat.

I would never use any graphics for forecasting snow showers off the North Sea, unless its a recognised trough. They're always useless, its all about doing their job for them and watching the radar!

But they were never forecast to! The wind hasn't changed direction yet. Why would you write off the whole day? blink.png

Give it a chance, the showers should pep up as the wind veers more easterly, this evening and overnight looking good.

The Met Office have removed the snow warning for Saturday and Sunday lmao sad.png

Yes its back to the Ice warning

Although some further slight snowfalls are likely, with 1 to 2 cm of fresh snow in a few places, the focus switches to ice, with sub-zero temperatures persisting over existing snow cover for many areas and spreading back into parts of the southwest towards daybreak on Saturday.

Look at the radar, it is definitely starting to show a turn towards the East, you can see showers appearing on the far right of the radar area that weren't there a little while ago, and there is definitely an Easterly drift, bring it on

Thing is, they were there before yesterday and then were taken away before being reinstated. I'd bet money they will return, things are changing so fast at the moment.

Snow warning re-issued

Further sleet and snow showers will lead to accumulations of snow in places, with ice an additional hazard. The public should be aware of the risk of disruption to travel.

Valid from: 0005 on Sat 19 Jan 2013

Valid to: 1300 on Sun 20 Jan 2013

How accurate is the hourly forecast on the Weather Channel? I hadn't checked for 24 hours or so, but it is now snowing some sort of snowfall every hour from 14:00 this afternoon right through until Sunday, which is as far as it goes.

To be honest Darren the most accurate thing is the Rainfall Radar

That snow warning is only for Northumberland. The rest of us are only covered by the ice warning.
