That'll be from the band moving from the south clipping eastern counties.

Lisa showing heavy snow on Monday for Durham significant accumulations possible as the snow lasts through-out the day

After a high of 2.4c at 12:46 the temperature is falling sharply down to 1.2°C now

Any sign of snow in Durham City?

I'm at work in Newcastle and looking at the radar Durham seems to be in a snowy black hole with everything missing us!

Frontal snow looking likely to push southwards now. Looking at the visible satellite it seems to be grinding to a halt just 20-30 mile from Teeside. Great..! Never been a fan of frontal snow as I've stated before, bring on the North sea onslaught..!!

Heavy snow settling on all surfaces now.

This shower has lasted 1/2 an hour now and the radar is really looking promising for more showers feeding in.

Edit Eased right off for now!

Spare a thought for us cumbrians, we really couldn't be positioned in such worse a place for chance of snow, from an amber warning to perhaps a few flurries, we tend to get it when Boone else gets it let's hope our time will come soon

The trend all day has been for the snow to move further inland. First thing it was berwick then alnwick then blyth now shields so by the time its peterlee, hartlepool landfall places like durham consett and hexham should be in on it
