Just noticed how much all the showers seem to have intensified on the 1245 radar update.

We've had a few showers this morning and each one has seemed more potent than the last.

Yes there looking fairly intense now

Wonder if the wind is going to shift to the east and push them further inland

Very frustrating here in Durham. We're JUST too far south to be getting these showers.

That last shower was awesome just finishing off now, made my covering look brand new again added a cm perhaps, was very brief but intense

Think that's an intensity error. If you notice, the heaviest areas also intensify at exactly the same time in the SW frontal band, just as they were gradually getting lighter over the previous few frames.

I did think that, zoomed out and the increase is shown all over the country.

Wondered what possible event could cause all showers nationally to increase in intensity at the same time! Still, some might be valid!

Plenty of heavy snow showers since 10am (big snowflakes) and just had a heavy graupel shower showing that 850hpa temps are now dropping. The showers will merge to give prolonged snowfall around 4-5pm.

Suspect it will eventually, i'm about 500ft from the sea here - not had much settle this AM.

The question is whether the dewpoints support snow, that's the problem there.

So been snowing here on and off all morning, but significantly for last 10 mins started off with the very fine powdery stuff, now larger flakes.

Looking out my back window can usually see the sea through the houses, not at the minute just a large grey mass.

Anywhere north of the Humber. Absolutely teeming it down here on the coast with large graupel, everywhere is white again with a cm deposited in 10mins.

Snowflakes now but not as heavy but I'd say it was still moderate.
