Certainly looking like it's pivoting and if's that's the case we will miss out so will need to look east and hope the wind is strong enough to blow the showers well inland.

NONE EVENT Alert raised to 2.

The odd small flake so far not enough to say its snowing, wind is quite breesey so hopefully it will be here soon

All the other regional threads when it has started they've all said that it started out with just a few flakes then intensified slowly :)

OROGRAPHIC SNOWFALL!!!

Look at the radar, there seems to be what is maybe the first significant lot of it coming in land, as the direction has just changed enough. Should hit York within an hour.

edit: Also the band that stalled seems to be loosing intensity already and way its going wont even be over Liverpool in a couple of hours. This is changing rapidly and we could well be in the firing line by 6pm.

Presume PROB40 means probability of 40%. That means more likely not to happen, as is currently the case.

Prob 40% means its like to happen, a prob 30% would mean not. They only use 30% and 40%

Look at that North Sea snow machine shok.gif

And the puny weak front being dumped into France out the way.

Showers are running SE-NW. York not going to see any yet unless wind changes direction to more of an easterly.

It is, and at quite a fast rate, as at the same time the North Sea seems to be really getting up speed!

Not always sometimes showers can intensify very quickly.

Still starts with a few flakes or rain drops first.

You can see the showers being forced northwards as the front tries to move north, especially in East Anglia. sad.png

Hornsea must be getting plastered.

Well well well my forecast is holding firm and thaw soon to take place. Sun coming out north leeds and temp rocketing up!! Oh dear oh dear.

Why do you bother posting on this site? Your posts are often misinformed and ridiculously pessimistic! The Models for the last 24 hours have always showed the precipitation to pass through later on this afternoon and yes, not to be as heavy as further West (the radar shows the precipitation is currently losing some intensity), but moderate falls will still occur!
