Radar image looks good and the NAE looks very good for tonight.

Now going to my parents and will take a measurement, the bus back around 9pm should certainly be interesting.

lol, lets hope they are still running blum.gif

These vague hourly weather forecasts aren't worth the web space their written on, just take them with a pinch of salt.

Indeed.

All we can really say is that 00:00-06:00 looks epic.

Not a total loss if not, my parents will get more snow than i do in the city.

Only bad point is limited internet access.

Frontal movement looks mostly westward at the moment which is good for us, the further west the low center is the further west the main area of vorcity shall be.

Just hope the temp drops 'til then, not keen on above freezing snowfalls.

At least the flakes should be a decent size.

Just released from the Met Office

Aaah we've now got a grey warning that's new.

Just released from the Met Office

If that is correct then looks like Pennine flanking areas of Yorkshire could get a right battering, pretty much from west Sheffield northwards. I always suspect the tendency is to overplay these events (probably rightly) on behalf of the Met seeing that it's better for people to be well prepared. With the snow falling overnight, rather than at rush hour time (as has seemed to be the case here in Sheff recently) there could be some disruption tomorrow morning.

I'm in S10, slightly elevated towards the peaks so you just never know I suppose, will the big cloud happen to pass over or not?! Whatever happens it certainly beats more wind and rain!

BOOOOOOOM!!

The most important gfs run of the winter is an upgrade!

gfs-2-18.png?12

gfs-2-30.png?12

Snow expected to last longer over our region than first thought. Major upgrade for places like south yorkshire.

with a side order of blizzards please smile.png

Forget those totals I gave for your area, you can maybe double it now ; )
