Definitely appears to be some northwards progression again - at last - on the last few radar images. Shame it'll occur overnight so there'll be less to see but it's good for temps/dew points. Hopefully we'll all wake up to a good dumping and heavy snow still coming down!

is there a site that has up-to-date dew point and temp readings?

NW Extra has them. Maybe Weather Underground but someone else will know that. Anyway for your info, the temp here is now +1.6°C with a DP of -1.2°C. Temp has dropped 0.3°C in the last couple of hours.

Hope this helps.

Seriously if you got nothing positive to say about the weather then don't say anything at all! few people throwing there toys out and the snow isnt even due to arrive until after 6pm! we just gotta wait and it will deliver, met office are confident still and the bbc forecast good for us so stop whining really starting to grate in here now!! (RANT OVER)

Temp has really dropped to 0.9C already and dew point of 0 so things are going well smile.png

nice rant but well said, peeps should remain very optimistic... we are in for a brilliant event !!! and a long lasting one as well... enough of the pessimism already from some and adam better had honour is promise of buying all of us a pint tooblum.gif

You haven't had a big thaw have you sad.png

No not at all, very little really, in the back yard its receded from the walls and thinned a little but still looks good.

Solid on the paths still and cars still covered, icicles are bigger hanging from bumpers and gutters so looks like

a very light thaw really.

Temps dropped to -0.5C now its almost dark so looking good. Hows it looking your way?

Yep, finally over the N Sea to the east of The Wash there is northward movement (sleet according to NW radar).

Something wintry this way comes......

Can anyone give me a clue as to what to expect in a Skipton-Ilkley-Harrogate area triangle? Am struggling to make sense of things at the moment using only mobile phone.

Can't believe some Nob-Ed wrote RETARD in the snow on my windscreen. Took me almost 2hours to lick it all off.

The heavier stuff off the East Anglian coast looks like it's going to skim the Yorks/Lincs coast and maybe have a big impact in NE England and E Scotland? Based on it's current position I can't see it getting far inland as it works its way up here, though if the winds turn more easterly it's a possibility.

Edit: This doesn't mean we're not going to get snow before people like Adam assume that from my post!!

Temperatures are slowly dropping which will bode well for snowfall potential. Currently -0.7c

Well fingers crossed any thaw today will be insignificant and quickly forgotten after an even better event.
