Radar show the heavy flakes refusing to hit past Newhaven but it just doesn't seem to matter, this fine stuff is quite heavy and now settling well on the pavements and roads replacing the slushy stuff.

Still light snow here in RP, easing a touch. Looks like the moderate snow is east of the meridian at the moment as predicted.

Here in Peacehaven 7 miles along the coast from Brighton ( East of ) we have continuous light snow with some decent intensity, laying well again.

How long is this band programmed to be with us today, is there a second band or greater intensity due throughout the day, or is it due to fizzle out??

Thanks Guys.

It's like a form of snow I've never seen. Proper powder.

I agree! About a 5 on that scale posted a few pages back.

My Dad works for Shepway council (he is one of the guys who drives the big cleaner machines usually) and he started at 6am. He said the snow started at 6:30 and by 8:30 they were all sent home as there was no gritting overnight apparently. He lives in Densole and said Spitfire Way was not good at 8:45ish so if this keeps up won't be many from up on the hills getting down to town if they need/want to!
