Further snowfall is likely as another weather front moves across the UK from the Atlantic. 2-5 cm is possible quite widely with 10 cm or more locally and over high ground. Strong winds will also lead to drifting, particularly over higher level roads in the north.

The public should be aware of possible disruption, particularly to travel.

Moderate snow in Nottingham... 5p sized flakes.

Update: Its absolutely chucking it down now... heaviest snowfall I've seen in a long time for Nottingham (Lenton). I don't think its gong to settle very well though...

OMG!!jus watched the bbc weather right now!!expecting 5-10 cms of snow across the mdlands on friday and it could linger around for a bit longer!!

Moderate snowfall here in Newark now, unfortunately we're just a little too far NE to be affected by this makeshift line of showers- fragmenting badly on their travels.

Settling nicely though- and we still have 10cms+ - very little thaw this far East!

Yup ive just had a look at that on the radar looks pretty potent!!hopefully it will come as late as possible!!Oh and the warnings are updated for friday!!take a look at the metoffice website!!looking good!!

I'm in Westminster today and its even snowing here! Expecting an update from home as surely snow is on the doorstep. No lying snow here though - few dregs on roofs and in St James Park.

Snowing very heavily here in Daventry now! How much are we expected to get? Haven't been watching the models the last couple of days so this rather took me by surprise

Heavy snow in ST Neots, biggest flakes of this winter, came out of nowhere! So you'll probably get some more in Rushden soon...

snow not sticking to wet surfaces unfortunately , still snowing moderately , reasonable sized flakes , but snow is wet type , so struggles to settle especially in the day light hours

Anybody seen the ukmo 12 z charts!!it now keeps it cold on saturday aswell!!predicting temps are around 0 or 1 and also friday is around -2 all day!!oh and am pretty sure the precipitation would be all snow friday night into saturday!!jheeez!!

Constant light snow here for the past 3-4 hours, with occasional heavier bursts- kept snow cover at pretty much the same as it was overnight.
