It's eased off here now, hubby still not made it home, in fact hasn't even got as far as the A37 yet - total gridlock. Here's a couple of dodgy pics I've just taken in the garden, as you can see, we've had a nice top up to what was still laying. post-6280-0-95100600-1358884991_thumb.jppost-6280-0-56944200-1358885040_thumb.jp

Light but very wet snow here in Bristol currently after the huge fat flakes we had at around 6pm. It's just not cold enough out there at the moment. Really disappointing after the dump we saw earlier.

Radar is an evolving situation by the looks of it, I would not count out more intense ppn behind the main chunk now over Wales.

Well MetOffice tellse heavy snow still to be had at 9pm so I'm going to refrain from looking outside til then and see just how right it is .... Naughty I know but why not. I may be proved wrong.. What luxury to at least test the theory...

Hope those that are still trying to get home though do so soon and safely.

Wondering if the current gap of light sleet/snow area over South Wiltshire will be filled by heavier coming up from the Southampton direction.

Temp has been 0.4c for nearly 3 hours since the heaviest burst and there's a slow thaw of some of what settled earlier, although a good few

CMs on most surfaces which were clear and a decent top up on what was left from Friday.

You may well be proven wrong! The met office have had sleet showing for me for hours now, how wrong that has been! Currently very heavy snow, as this main heavy band seems to be hitting!!

Rain on south coast. Really disappointing. Good luck to you guys out west.

Well sort of.

It's been snowing all afternoon here in Poole, and then around 6ish it was rain, snow, rain, snow, rain, snow, rain, snow which is still the case.

A measured 2cms was the outcome for the afternoon.

Currently:

Temp 0.3°C

DP -1.6°C

As everything now dripscray.gif

Zooming in on the radars, it seems that as soon as the heavier ppn gets near me, it fizzles out!

I am seriously considering using a fire blanket on my open fire just in case I am creating too much heat :D

Snow easing here now, that intense band really delivered though. Went from not settling to a covering in less than half hour
