Just shows that they haven't really got a clue! This band must suddenly intensify soon because in a few hours time they were showing it being very widespread.

What temps are areas showing? Currently 1.5c here in brum which is a bit high for my liking, any snow which does fall wont settle unless we see a fall, assuming it falls as snow.

The Met Office updated warnings (issued about an hour ago) now have all of our region in the yellow area, so a significant extension. The amber zone now comes down to a line roughly Shrewsbury-Sutton Coldfield-Coventry.

MetO have downgraded the forecast for here from heavy snow to light snow then rain.

That said, its only been a few hours since they upgraded it to heavy snow.

Ergo - dont think they have a clue, fankly!

The complete lack of any meaningful precipitation south of the Pennines is becoming a worry and maybe why the forecasts are now moving to much lighter snow.

It's still a devolving situation and is developing over Ireland right now! Quite keep a eye on the radar for next few hours! Light snow blowing around at the moment

Look to Ireland now, its been mentioned a few times that this is merely a fragmented band to start! dirol.gif

You are kidding me. It looks fantastic for large parts of the midlands. Apart from my area really.
