I think snow showers will be driven on by a very strong WNW wind on Monday night so a lot places can expect showers from time to time. Not as heay in land or the east but with it colder in these places would not take as much for accumulations.

Met Office outlook looking very wintry especially for Scotland! Put that low a wee bit further South and it would be game on! To be honest I would take a dusting of snow! Plezzzz! Lol!

Will probably be a frontal system and embedded troughs associated with that strong Northerly flow from Tuesday to Thursday (as the Low moves further West and then South. Could be an interesting period to watch out for snow wise.

I wonder will the coming week be colder overall then the recent "cold spell"? On tues it looks like donegal, derry, sligo and mayo will be in the firing line for snow showers and blizzard conditions in any snow showers. Even though the winds look strong for tues i wonder though how many showers will actually make it across the country ,im hopefull of at least getting a dusting maybe tues night. Atm im just thinking as far ahead as wed but i really hope the ecm will be right though as far as the rest of the week is concerned, heres hoping and that it sticks to its guns.

Heavy snow showers tomorrow night blown to the east coast on very strong winds. Accumulations likely (low ground).

We should have a warning for tomorrow night. Could get bad.

-10 line into Donegal from a WNW source, crazy.

Would be plenty of showers in that flow, -10s stretching over 500 miles+ of ocean.

I'm not getting this at all. Signs point to lots of snow showers here in the northwest and net weather forecast shows snow showers but met office uk shows dry overnight mon and into Tuesday. ?! And bbc say light rain.

Not what their text forecast says. I don't use the 5 day local forecasts tbh, not as much time/effort put into them. Precipitation forecasts are better to look at 12-24 hours out and then a brief look at radar once in a while to nowcast,

Monday:

Bright with some sunshine and blustery showers. The showers most frequent in the north and turning to sleet and snow, especially on higher ground. Strong to gale force westerly winds. Maximum Temperature 6 °C.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

Staying cold and windy on Tuesday with further wintry showers, dying out during Wednesday with winds easing down later. Dry, bright start to Thursday then cloudy with outbreaks of rain.

Early warning from yesterday afternoon. Bring on the snow :)

An Early Yellow warning of High Winds & Wintry Conditions has been issued for parts of Northern Ireland (See Map)

Severe gale force winds are expected to affect Northern Ireland during Monday and into Tuesday. The highest winds are likely across Northern & Western areas

Heavy & Frequent showers are also likely to affect many areas and they are expected to turn increasingly to Sleet, Hail & Snow later in the day and into the evening, Although at this stage large accumulations are unlikely, the snow combined with high winds may produce blizzard like conditions and may lead to some disruption to travel and difficult driving conditions.

Further updates will be issued over the coming days. Stay tuned.

Warning from the Meto:

Northern Ireland

snow-yellow.gifSnow 1600 on Mon 4 Feb 2013Open/Close

Issued at: 1253 on Sun 3 Feb 2013

Valid from: 1600 on Mon 4 Feb 2013

Valid to: 2359 on Mon 4 Feb 2013

Heavy, squally showers will spread to many parts of Northern Ireland and the western half of northern England during Monday, turning wintry on high ground through the middle of the day and then increasingly to lower levels during Monday evening. Showers will probably remain largely as sleet and hail along some northern and western coasts, but are likely to turn to snow inland, more certainly on ground above 100 or 200 metres elevation. 10 cm or more of snow may affect higher level routes later in the day, with drifting and temporary blizzard conditions. At lower levels, amounts of snowfall will be generally smaller and quite variable but some areas could see in excess of 5 cm of snowfall, with some drifting. Winds will gust to around 50 mph near the heavier showers but higher over hills.

Snow showers look like being very widespread tomorrow night on the wind. Might not prevent a frost well inland though and some icy patches for Tuesday morning. I expect around about 3 - 5cm in my area with more the further north and west you are.

Looking forward to the upcoming events. Pity its not at the weekend but who knows what the future may bring.

PS anybody know stuff about dmx lighting and sound desk etc? Looking at a fairly big purchase of stuff and could do with some friendly advice.
