Well Phil Avery just now on news24:

"All the way from the London area, through the Midlands up to the north of England - Up to 10cm" (his words)

*make what you will of that

I thought Norwich did very well out of the January event?huh.png

sorry, what i should have said, is , accept norwich and ipswich.. which always do well.. anywhere inbetween doesnt.. for eg. the low that pushed up from france gave me 4", which is the most we have had for over 25 years, and im not joking!

I have to say that this week's northerly would have been disappointing for early April let alone early February. Absolutely pathetic! This weekend is looking increasingly likely to be a damp squib and to be honest I'm not expecting any notable cold for the rest of the month now. Good job we had the half decent cold spell in January!

I was about to say the very same thing; this must be one of the most over-hyped 'Arctic Blasts' of all time?

What will be will be, we have had a couple of snow incidents recently that were not forecast so my glass is half full, and that they have underestimated again :))

I am not 100% this is gone yet, I think it is to play for.

Lets see what the models say into the evening and we might get a clearer picture.

I forsee one of two things, either another downgrade which in my mind will kill it or a sudden upgrade.

that very much depends on if you get snow or not.

and since the "event" hasn't happened yet, perhaps its a bit early to talk of over-hype?

The 12z is worse than the 06z for the whole country in general.

By Sunday night into Monday nearly the whole of England would struggle to see snow, let alone just us in the SE.

After reading TEITS posts on the mod thread, I was sure this 12z would upgrade for us.

No chance!

12z is awful....I know it sounds silly but I'm expecting a major upgrade with the 18z! You heard it here first! :D

Talk about being an optimist, I don't think it will happen this time and to be quite honest even if it does snow the predicted temperatures aren't good.

HMM NAE and 12Z GFS = Nail and coffin IMO. We need a miracle to see any decent lying snow otherwose it will be a rain or sleet fest for the whole region im afraid, even Northern Cambs / Norfolk is showing Dew points around 3c right into Monday :(

Ok sledge being put back in she'd

Yes, I like to remain positive but even I can clearly see this isn't looking good.

I think this is a Northern England/Scotland event, the fact the 12z hasn't corrected south is very worrying!

I'll just expect rain I think and then if it snows then a bonus (unlikely)

At least it's the weekend, party Saturday night which I'm looking forward to.

I, for one, will not throw the towel in until the morning's runs confirm there'll be no white stuff Sunday. The fat lady has not sung yet ...
