I am sure things will change between now and sunday / monday - there is clearly a hell of a lot of uncertainty in the track of this low and you only have to look at the changes in the SE & national bbc forecast from last night to today to see just how uncertain and how quickly forecasts have / are changing.

Based on the changes seen today - at least the models can only really upgrade for us in Kent now and we are currently now just forecast rain and then monday looks drier.

Appreciate its rather stating the bleeding obvious but I really do believe this will very much be a case of just wait and see what actually happens on sun / mon and expect the unexpected with the track of this low regardless what any models might show beforehand.

Well we currently have a thunderstorm here in Buntingford, East Herts. A massive lightening bolt out of the blue just lit up the sky, scared the life out of me as wasn't expecting it at all, lol! laugh.png

Really? I'm facing the window and I haven't seen anything, must be going blind :(

No i learnt that lesson years ago, i stay very quiet these days.

(-: to be honest...

I only told the cat and the better half as I work from home these days.. should have mentioned that really... laugh.png

It's the weekend at last. Lets not get to dispondant. This was alway finely in the balance. maybe we will get an upgrade maybe we won't. Lets just wait and see, tomorrow will paint a clearer picture for sure. For me the weekend = beer time & quality family time. Happy weekend all, lets hope it ends in a white out :-)

just a quicky ohmy.png ( i should be so lucky ) laugh.png

sunday was more than like going to be rain as i am sure most people expected

people further north may get something but so complicated this is i do not know either way

check the ukmo raw chart for monday the top one on the right plus tuesday

this is when we get the best chance

although sunday is so messy do not be surprised to see this change again later

waiting for fax updates at present

The cold circulation this Sunday will be very rigid which means changes are possible and could favour the SE with snow.

You must have heard the thunder, unless you got really good double glazing wink.png

I think we do get some isolated thunderstorms caused by uplifting due to our elevated area (just 10 miles North of here past Royston and into South Cambridgeshire it's low lying very flat land).

Does anyone remember a similar synoptic pattern in the early 80s? when we were forecast rain but the Great Francis Wilson forecast rain turning to Snow? It was raining hard when I went to bed and when we woke up we had 4" of Snow!!

He was the local forecaster for what was then "Thames TV". And the ONLY one to stick his neck out.

A year later SKY nicked him! lol

My point being, things can and will change at the last minute. I personally have had enough of digging my Car out both here and in Leeds.diablo.gif

I was going to post the BBC evening news forecast at 6:25pm.

Not so sure anymore, I thought I was giving info to the thread but it seems I'm just annoying members by posting the updates!

Models are not going to handle this interesting snowy cycle change very well.

The Fax Charts are our best bet here as the MetO's scientist Bod's will use theur wisdom and knowledge to the full.

Expecting really good Fax Charts later on JP biggrin.png
