Unsurprisingly the UK Met Office haven't updated their warnings yet, they must be bloody snookered!

Just looked and they have updated them.

The areas haven't changed but the emphasis on the forecast has.

Still looking decent for the region as a whole although with the South Pennines looking to be taking the lions share and conditions getting worse (better if you like snow) later in the day.

Just need the cold air to dig in as even up here with snow still falling heavily it's still to marginal for my liking.

Here in the Peak District the snow is as follows:

Below 1000 feet some wet snow but mainly rain or sleet

Below 1400 feet wet snow maybe 1 or 2cm

Above 1400 feet heavy snow and blustery winds probably 6cm or so

Snow also in north staffordshire moorlands above 1000 feet

Strange what happened to the met office radar http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/uk/radar/index.html up until 10:30 it showed a large area of precip out in the Irish Sea, and on subsequent updates it's just vanished. Doubting weather we'll have enough precipitation at this rate, certainly not heavy enough for 'disruptive' snowfall.

Radar is showing a period of lighter stuff coming over this part of the region and it does seem to be easing off a bit now.

It looks like the Met O Yellow warning areas have changed slightly with the eastern parts of GM and Lancs in a sort of no mans land where the two warnings meet.

Don't know whether that is a good or bad thing but hopefully two lots of overlapping yellow means twice the amount of snow.

Just hope there is enough ppn when the dew points fall would like to see snow but I know will be a while yet before it starts snowing here.

Dew points are still far too high so your lucky to be seeing any snow at all to be honest.

This looks promising for the Greater Manchester/Cheshire part of the region, still don't trust the UK Met Office though after lastnight's p**s poor forecast!
