when does it go dry mate?

Hard to tell mate

NAE PPN Charts still has wintry weather over southern parts of the region up until lunchtime Monday

such a complex situation though anything could happen

Snow here moderate but not sticking yet

Definately your altitude advantage kicking in like that friday night again, not even a sleetflake here yet so far, keeps switching between a rainfest and a jackfest here!

Yes quite amazing that places just 10 mins drive away are getting snowfall, elevation makes all the difference. Heard cat & fiddle rd getting problematic, may be closed before too long

Snowing heavier here now. Matt Hugo tweeted earlier possible more snow on Wednesday.

Yes, although a quick snow to rain event probably, looking at the models.

how do you mean CS revising their forecast

how do you mean CS revising their forecast

Not for our region, however more wintry than expected for parts of wales and SW

Probability of these areas seeing 2-5cm around 60%

just shows the uncertainty of this system though

I think the eastern parts of the region should start to see rain turning to sleet and snow within the next couple of hours, even those at lower altitudes.

This should hopefully then start to effect areas further west as we get towards dark.

Then all of the region could have an interesting few hours of weather before it clears south.

Snow is now heavier here than it has been so far and is blowing about in the wind.

Cheers mate, the BBC forecast looked increasingly good for much of our region until late this evening and yourselves are in a good location for it to continue for longer.

Can't wait until the Express puts two and two together and works out that Wednesday's storm went on a 48 hour tour of the NE United States then it will be.

Just reading the Wales thread, and a post by Jackone

The low pressure is further east than expected,Thus allowing the colder air in sooner than expected

make of that what you want

Light rain still here - Met office says that we'll be dry after midday...?! Which means that when the cold air gets here we won't have anything left to turn to snow...

The Met Office haven't got a bloody scooby what's going to happen. Chill you will see snow at some point.

Cat & Fiddle closed apparently.

Didn't think it would take long.

10:30 BBC News forecast - very positive, showed lots of snow on the graphics and lasting well into early hours.

Roll on 30 mins later

11:00 BBC New forecast - showed very little snow in the region with most of it midlands, south east.

mmm....big change, have they had some updates on the high resolutions?
