Correct if you look at the NAE FOR example, snow is not forecast until midnight

some need to chill, all good things come to those that wait

was always going to be rain during daylight hours.

Snowing again, pepping up too.

Cant see it reaching here, settling snow will fall in Saddleworth as there is some serious altitude in some places, most at lower altitudes will get a mix with some slushy deposits possible.

Current situation in south cheshire

Air Temp 3c

DP 1c

850 Temps -2c

Light Rain

2100 Tonight

DP -2C

850 Temp -5c

Air Temp predicted to be around 1c

taken of the NAE 6z so i would expect any PPN to be turning wintry at that time and NOT before

No sign of anything wintry here, rain as taken a short break too

The biggest worry is that by the time conditions turn conducive for snow, the main precipitation will have moved south

OMG I damn well hope that the two cm's I've already got isn't as disruptive as that Darn Sarf is obviously going to be otherwise, heaven forbid they might even have the mention the words snow and north in the same sentence.

I'm all for giving the news but at least let it happen first.

Those in the eastern US must be peeing themselves at the way be hype up bugger all.

That is of course once they've dug their telly's out and got the power back on.

All going to plan so far, rain on low ground, snow for those on higher ground

the NAE and GFS PPN charts are very tasty indeed for all the region this evening onwards

lets see how accurate they turn out, before we start moaning about non-event

Also point of intrest i do believe from another thread, that the METO are revising there forecast for some parts of the country
