The lack of excited posts from the Croydon area says it all, not looking great here at the moment. I checked the Met Office WOW site about an hour ago and all the temps in the area were showing 2c, now all the temps to the south of me are around 0c, so maybe the cold is coming and things will improve. There is certainly enough precipitation.

We starting to get a slight covering on the ground now (cars are already completely covered). We just need the precipitation to pep up now and we would get a decent covering.

Ground now starting to look a little pale, looks to be setting on paths and perhaps roads!

Gavin will be crying into his cornflakes. blum.gif

I'd certainly suggest the Downs, they'll have the most snow in the whole area, and will see the least thaw I suspect tomorrow.

I've always wondered this: why are the called the Downs? Wouldn't the 'Ups' make more sense?

Driving Snow here still, things turning slightly white now. Settling on cars and roofs now.

Small flakes really though, but heavish also.

Temp 0.9c

Edit: Starting to settle on pavements as well now. Amazing! Just shows you, don't matter how wet it can be sometimes, it can settle fast if heavy enough, Seen it all before, so no surprise really. Just fascinating.

Had virtually given up on the prospect of any snow when I could hear what I presumed was sleet on the conservatory roof, went to let the dogs in the garden and was pleasently surprised to see the grass is turning white, along with the garden furniture, :)

Only the British could do a running commentary of snow days rofl.gif

Actually when I was in singapore it once got to near 60f almost unheard of and people talked about getting their jumpers out, it was also on the news.

Any 'rare' event will be of interest.

I still remember the 1980's so well, Kent experienced some amazing snowfalls and was always the sweet spot for heavy snowfall!

Cars covered , road starting to go white in middle to start

(nr Goodmayes, Essex)

I didn't think anyone still classed Goodmayes as Essex!

Glad it's snowing there though!
