Hmmm....not sure whether to be happy or suspicious....

Lovely snowfall, settled on everything in Gidea Park....BUT....

Having just been out in it, the trees and drainpipes are dripping...

Happy to have near-blizzard conditions (please note the NEAR...for the Blizzard Officials of Regional Expertise....), but get the feeling that it's come too late to deliver something truely wonderful.

Glad many are seeing snow, still a damp squib here in south London. Been raining since dawn this morning, imagine if it were all snow!

Yes, been thinking the same all day....

Epping has turned into a white snow land once again!

Can't complain with the snowfalls I've seen this winter.

Radar looks to be clearing things out over London and heading towards essex and herts.

Ppn may make a return after though.

Still snowing heavy out there!

Snowing quite hard in Stortford, but still struggling to settle on anything but cars, roofs etc.

Just South & South West of our locations seems to have had slightly heavier PPN for hours.

Mind you it has settled on the main road outside. Looks dodgy.

Get yourself over to Epping!

Horizontal snow and its settled everywhere!

Unless your in 2 places at once of course!

I love how members can assume your weather conditions 40 miles away!!

Why would we lie?

Nobody has said anyone is lying in a post in here that I've seen, just some over enthusiastic posts about conditions which can be misleading to others.

In a true blizzard there would be prolonged snow storms lasting several hours with winds over 35mph and reduced vision of 400m or less, and in a whiteout there would be total loss of vision and orientation.

It's understandable that a lot of emotion is creeping into the thread, some are going to do better than others and disappointing as it is to miss out some people would really do themselves (and others) a favour by easing off with negativity.

Please lets try and keep the thread topical, cheerful and positive angel.gif

Re. Snow Depth Cup. I would suggest those of you who do have any snow to measure might want to consider a time to do that.

I want to leave measuring a final depth until midday Tuesday, just in case we have a little more snow from, by then an easterly flow.

Could you get back to me with suggestions, as from my window, I'm looking out on very wet streets here in S.E.London and I'm in the dark as to how much any of you have.

Perhaps we could agree on a time when you think would be a fair time to calculate a measurement and "bank" it, as such.

Dont think it would be fair to have that snow melt, before you've had a chance to measure.

I suggest that if the final depths on Tuesday are back to zero, those of you with the deepest amount after tonight/tomorrow morning, should be deemed the winner.

Call it Half/Time, if you like. Perhaps you could contact your opponent to discuss the state of play, I'm sure you all can come to an amicable agreement.

I'm going off to ponder if I should apply an altitude handicap, I'll get back to you on that.

Meanwhile I'll leave you with the match-ups and contact your opponent, they wont bite, even if they dont have any snow to measure, friendly bunch they are.
