For once the south coast look to be in the firing line! Makes a change with a snow event! Normally rain south of the M4 with snow anywhere North of there! What sort of totals are we looking at for coastal areas? Can't look at charts as I'm out!

It's now official. This is cold.

All the cats are now lying in the passage where all the underfloor heating pipes go through to the dining room and lounge. It's the warmest place in the house and it's my cold day temperature test.

Hi JP, WOW clapping.gif If the ppn carries on it's projected path from France, gritters will have to have their snowploughs fitted on help.gif

Yep we broke out the aperitifs here in sweltering SW France, currently 19 degrees.... it is going to be a big contrast when I get back to London tomorrow

Temp here in Petts Wood/Locksbottom borders dropped to 1.9 degrees and has continued to fall steadily in last hour(was 2.5 degrees at 3.30pm).Bitter wind but dry here at the moment. Can't help but think we will have another near miss again here for NW Kent as has happened a few times this winter.Main LP seems to be too far South and will only impact Southern Counties and inland about 10-15 miles on current projections and then we are in the "hit and miss" shower activity and when it comes to that scenario the snow shield over this part of NW Kent will ensure we are in the "miss" zone.It is just my gut feeling about next 48hrs but good luck to those who get the snow.!

dont think anyone would lay claim to exact totals. However the south coast looks primmed for some decent accums.

UW144-21.GIF?10-17

ecm at 144

ECM1-144.GIF?10-12

ukmo has that low further south but similar set up

ecm leads to this

ECM1-240.GIF?10-12

ECM101-240.GIF?10-12

ECM0-240.GIF?10-12

so slight warm up 16th to 19th (warm up not warm)

then back we go to the cold

The hills 15 miles to my East have just disappeared in a cloud of fog.. I wonder..

Charing Hill often gets shrouded. I used to love seeing the snow hit the North Downs, then they built a darn housing estate at the bottom of the garden cray.gif

Heres my take on tomorrows frontal snow - this does NOT take into account shower/streamer accumulations
