Dry as a bone here too, also, thank goodness, a lot less windy. Temp currently at +4°C.

Looks like it's chucking it down in Newbury (watching morning line on c4)

It is Bristle Boy. Large flakes setting on cars Etc

Looks to be quite wet though although starting to settle on pavements. Am off to the dentist later this morn so I will find out for sure. :)

All the heavy snow just a few miles to my east.. Damn.

I know the feeling. Just as it becomes cold enough for snow here, all the decent ppn is just to the north east. Just a few sleety flakes here now.

Sky news report live now from Stow on thd Wold, cotswolds - got about 3 ins by looks of it.

Seems like we're right on the edge of snow area today though looking at sky news weather graphics.

And radar seems to back that up.

Incredible up in peak district - 2 foot of lying snow with even bigger drifts - now that's what u call snow!

Pictures now on sky news show huge snowfalls all over N midlands, wales, cumbria, n ireland - jealous!

Well here in Quedgeley (just above sea level) its goddam snowing. What a surprise. I dont expect it to settle except up on the Cotswolds/Forest of Dean.

Cheers !

John

Yep I gathered that from a plethora of Facebook posts! But even earlier I think for Wokingham First time in years I actually slept through to 830 and not up at 630! Typical I would have seen the first grains otherwise. It is sticking more now here on the roads .... You what is it like?

Snow easing here and that is proved by the RainToday radar, looks like the band is weakening. Snow settling on cars, grass, soil but not accumulating anymore on grass by the looks of it.

Around 1.5cm on cars and still 0.5cm - 1cm on grass. Few flakes settling on the wet pavements and puddles.

The temperature seems to be going down here, guess this is the cold air filtering in? 3.2c an hour ago, 2.8c now?

Whereas the fronts bringing the current snowfall will decay over the next 24 hours, looking at the direction and strength of the wind and the line up of the isobars suggest North Sea streamers setting up or possibly troughs or small low pressure systems. Potentially a lot more snow to fall. Currently about 5cm here and snowing steadily. Very strong winds blowing snow around.

Hey all,

Had some very heavy snowfall here.

On top of dry stuff I have about 2cm's... On the grass. It has only just started to settle so its a slushy 50/50 affair.

The snowfall has pretty much stopped here now. Annoyingly, Its gone north and doesnt look like it will pivot and move south again.

On the hills here it looks white, So probably a good few inches there.

Anyway, Glad we got some, Shame its stopped.

Snow has eased off now, Gloucester has ended up with about 0.5cm of wet slush, but that's still more than expected.
