Heavier areas of snow breaking out all over the north and east midlands. This could be very good indeed. Snow starting to settle on minor roads and pavements that had thawed around here.

It's the same here, very heavy and very windy.

To be honest though, it's nearly April so this is astonishing that it's even happening.

Although I know it was a different setup, 6 April 2008 was a far better snow event in these parts, even if it had all melted by lunchtime. (Obviously if Bewdley is buried tonight I'll revise this, but...)

Ruddy great flakes coming down right now, although the ground is still slightly too wet for it to stick.

Wow this is beautiful to watch.

Glad I'm not still stuck at work (not that I'd be getting much done right now lol).

Persistent and sometimes heavy snow now and settling on most roads now. Temperature now 32.8 and dew point 30.5. another pulse of heavier precipitation over Nottingham heading our way, and the front to our south west is intensifying and moving in as well pushing snow from that direction too. exciting times in this area. I am now really expecting something special to develop.

This is a tough one, temps should slightly drop over the enxt few hours, even though 850hpa temps hold. This cooling of the lower level will probably be enough to tip nearly all of the Midlands from sleety snow to full on settling snow come 7-8pm....IMO!

Polar opposite to you lot. Pretty light and tiny flakes, fairly wet. Makes me sad reading whats happening everywhere else.

Heaviest snow of the winter by far here now, huge flakes.
