The band of heavy precipitation from Liverpool through Oxford is now making slow but steady headway north east and with the ever expanding precipitation over the East Midlands, North Midlands looks to be the perfect area for the heaviest of the snow this evening and overnight as stalling should then take place for hours

I'm hoping when the precipitaiton in the East Midlands joins precip from West Midlands over the line between Leics/Derby it'll increase in intensity a fair bit :)

Starting to feel a little skeptical for where I am. It's just pot luck that I bet we miss out and Coventry get pounded as usual.

Always the same here with disappointment. We are both on naff low ground!

However, it does seem to be a warmer local spot in the summer (whats summer? lol)

Best thing that can happen is this stop know and come back with big heavy flakes at midnight-ish, it's melting everything and everywhere there's 2 inch deep puddles. Could be a disaster here tonight.

Just as I moan, it's starting snowing. Ha. There's a big blob heading for us going by the radar, but it's not particularly massive. Nice to see though.

Heavier areas of snow breaking out all over the north and east midlands. This could be very good indeed. Snow starting to settle on minor roads and pavements that had thawed around here.

Not at all pleasant here: moderate sleet, with almost all this morning's snow now gone from the roads. 1.8 °C and not really budging. I fear I may be too far SW and too lacking in altitude to see much out of this, though I hope I'm wrong! As things stand, though, it's repulsive weather, far far worse than if it had been completely dry.
