Hi John I am fishing tomorrow and I can guess it will be windy and cold but various sources say it will snow all morning,is this likely?

If I am going to end up looking like a frozen gnome fishing in a pond I might as well be outside in a blizzard.....oh what am I saying I wish it was last March as our first match we were in shirtsleaves...

Not in this neck of the woods! Last exciting winter was 2010 - been pretty poor IMBY this year...

Snow wise it's been quite a let down here too, however what has made this winter exciting to me is finding this forum, and all the build up and up and downs that happen here. That has made this winter very exciting. The only thing missing is a 2009 type snow event, but lets face it, how often does that happen.

This weather forum is great - once a member, you will be forever a member, no mater what sad.png

As for 2009, that was a very rare event... last time I remembered snow at that depth was Feb 1991 :)

Worst event ever....

I take it you aren't talking about the weather?

At least I won't have to cast because I can just drop the hook through the hole in the ice like the Inuit lol Edited by blackprince

before we all go mental, remember I live next to fields. LOL

Back Garden = level 19cms.

Drifts = 23cms

Front Garden (more sheltered) = 11cms

Cars (by front garden) = 11cms.

(i'm trying to put a photo of my back garden up but it is not letting me 'use that extension on this community'

EDIT: Yes, this is for my Cambridge location, close to Hardwick.

My dads car. 6 inches (15cm) on top of it. Stopped snowing now though.

At least you know where most of the fish are likely to be. I hope you manage to find a peg near the deepest spot.

Oh I am.

In fact December was better for snow.

This is why i call for a more focused regional thread.

EA & southern midlands thread.

Eastern & far south eastern thread.

London & surrounding counties thread.

Southern & coastal thread.

It makes sense & stops the likes of me getting well jel lol.

Hi John, don't think there will be any swimmers in the way this year, maybe some ice flows, now that would make it more interesting.

took this picture of the Thames earlier today, doesn't look appealing for messing about on the water!
