Weds onwards looks good for snow showers in our region. Possible undercut nxt weekend but uncertain at the moment

Re above NAE and UKMV are very accurate 12 hrs out usually. Last night it was also spot on re precipitation, temps were a degree lower than predicted so some got snow rather than rain.

Band re-intensifying across Colchester, hopefully it develops further.

hi mark

ignoring these for now

last night the south of the thames in parts had some decent snow

but was too wet too stick

none of these predicted snow so i am sticking with radars now

Totally agree and the hopeful optimism has really been tested this whole winter down here to the point where it's a stuck record north of the m4 channel low etc bla bla bla lol

though atleast we get the best of the summer weather usually down saaaarf East endz:-)))

Totally

ASTONISHING scenes out in my garden. 3 hours ago there was scarcely 2 inches, went outside a few minutes ago to find myself in very heavy snow and a level 6 inches (my garden is essentially a small drift from the field next door). Car depth now 11cms. Did not see this coming to be honest (even though I predicted it 2 days ago!!)

Thank God I wasn't up against you in the snow depth cup LOL!

Heavy snow next friday according to GFS. Conditions look more favourable, so 10-20cm can't be ruled out.

Which will result in everywhere north of the m4 West of Bexleyheath and South of Croydon getting plastered?;-)

Latest NAE has the front continuing in its current position all night, perhaps slightly further south. Tommorow will be light snow for the north of the region and flurries in the south dying out late afternoon

Typical just to far south! Stopped about an hour ago, yet buntingford measuring 12cm! Nowhere near that here!

I think a continuation of the cold will be the way forward. I think we will see heights build towards Scandinavia again as a deeper low approaches our shores, this will give sufficient WAA to develop heights to our north yet again. Then the low will undercut giving snow to some lucky locations.

Do have a higher elevation though, not an awful lot, but it would seem enough.

So is this meant to drop south? Or just start to break up in its current position? Radar looked so promising an hour ago

Once again the GFS 18z hints at a low pressure system moving in by the end of the week, with very cold uppers in place, snow likely if it goes this track...

Yep same here although still light to moderate here. Have around 8cm. Watch radar towards Colchester. Precip is moving east to west and sliping south v slightly. Might get a few more cms if you / we are lucky. Don't expect the band to move south much at all over nxt 12 hrs so Cambs could do very well along with east Northants etc

Roads and paths still clear here, about 3cm so no gain on 10am this morning, I reckon the council came around and put bloody underground heating in! In fact that would explain the lamppost failure Thursday night!
