You have a beautiful garden bj. Just dug the vegetable patch and cut the grass (sorry Great Plum) and now I'm knackered

Such a lovely afternoon, took dogs for a walk to local nature park and everything is lush and green. Long may it continue smile.png

Hi Jan,

If you're up to it, can you pop round to BR7 and strim our grass too, shot up in the last week or so and when you've done that any chance you

could reconstruct the wet room, don't think current builders have a clue! wink.png

Surveyor looked at the builders 2nd attempt, which builders finished on Monday and still doesn't think there's enough gradient on the floor and he's recommending the floor, toilet and sink be ripped up again, in his report, and they have a 3rd go at it! doh.gif

The shed's really nice though and not leaking, at the moment. laugh.png

Unbelievable!

Hope you're all having a lovely day, really nice here in Croydon.

Yours, still under reconstruction,

Tom. hi.gif

Hello Tom,

I would happily do your garden but fear it would finish me off! These builders are just a joke! How many more tries do they need? Not good Tom.

Just go and live in the shed. At least it's dry fool.gif

We have Jan.

Turned inside of the house into a lovely water feature, now.

I know when I'm beaten!

Tom.

Hi Jan, just cut my grass, third time in a week! put weed & feed down about four weeks ago and even just the dew in the mornings seems to be making it grow along with some warm sunshine of course. Ah lovely smell of freshly cut grass.

Great garden bjk, looks gorgeous and well looked after.

Unbelieveably at 16.55 the temp was 17.2° here and still rising! Very unusual this late in the day.

Not seen a cloud all day today, a really beautiful day and long may it continue....

Edit: Meant to say as well, heard my first Cuckoo of the year today, no wonder the songbirds have been so quiet.

Hi MarcB, good to hear that you have heard a cuckoo, i've been listening out most mornings lately but nothing here yet, we generally get quite a few as the drainage ditches on the marsh are full of Reed Warblers which tend to be a favourite nest site for cuckoo's to lay their eggs in. Very much liked your Yellowhammer the other day, the strangest bird I have had in the garden this year was a Reed Bunting at the end of March, definitely a first for me in the garden.

Have reached the time of year now where we get a night time chorus of noisy Marsh Frogssmile.png

Morning all,

I'm really enjoying a sunny week here in MK - would be even better if I didn't have to work and could be outside starting off my tan !  Still the balance of my holiday is due tomorrow so that means it's getting close.....just as well....

Hi bjk, luckily, we do not get frogs in the garden, no one around us has a pond or anything like that and the river is about 400m away.

Not the best picture but here is 'my' Reed Bunting trying to blend in to the background.

post-3080-0-91406200-1367475763_thumb.jp

We originally had a pair that would come in and feed but not seen them together for over a month now.

Talking of strange birds, surprisingly I have been told that there is a 'Hoopoe' in the next village, really hoping that it will pay us a visit.

Morning all, had a week off from here due to 'family problems'.  But can't stay away from here too long.

Glad to see Coast back amongst the fold and sorry to hear of all your plumbing problems Tom. Took us two years to sort out a plumbing problem here, not wanting to worry you or anything.... :0

I am loving this weather.  The moorhens on our local duckpond have had babies and if you are lucky you can catch them bouncing from the nest and following mum for a swim.  I love spring. biggrin.png

Morning regionaires!

The first day of this week where it hasn't been sunny and warm to start off. It looks like it's just a bit of lingering cloud over the extreme SE corner and hopefully it will clear later:

Still looking good for a dry and mostly sunny B/H weekend and then it's time to consider the return to work :(

Morning all, another beautiful morning after an early ground frost, things shaping up nicely the BH weekend with little rain, if any showing for Saturday now, temps warm up nicely through the weekend and by Monday should reach the high teens and for those lucky enough to be off Tuesday looks like it may hit 20c before rain moves in Wednesday.

Sad story of the man from London who died attempting to trek across Greenland you can see from GFS maps for Saturday just how severe the snow, wind and cold temps are there and while we look towards a nice weekend, Greenland is still very much in the grips of winter.

Morning all,

Ditto to the above, beautiful morning here in Chislehurst, despite the internal lift not working again! Cant waste anymore time on the phone.

My daughter and I have been asked to work an extra hour today, due to computer system not up and running, after being out of action all day, yesterday. Didnt realise this building company were involved in computer software too!

Will be working 11.30-8.30 today and then busy weekend and Bank Holiday Monday coming up, with lots of racing, including first 2 classic races of the Flat season, at Newmarket.

Can be a bit of a pain working the whole of these B/H weekends but the overtime comes in handy, of course.

Hope you all have a lovely day.

Regards,

Tom.

Mornin each. Another lovely day by the looks of it. It's 12c here in Ippy now so hope it gets warmer. Been really busy with writing and I've been asked to write a piece for a history site aimed at encouraging young people to read history by making it 'fun' and more accessible to them. :D And my WIP is coming along nicely and already has fans. YAY!

Hope you all have a lovely day and have lots of plans for the holiday weekend. :D

Take care all.
