Just heard a couple of rumbles of thunder out to the west of me as well.

Just started to rain again.

Edit: The heaviest rain may be to the north and the south of me though unfortunately and as I type, another crack of thunder, it's definitely close!

Looks quite surreal here at the moment, to the south and south west of me the clouds look heavy, dark and almost bluish in colour. Up above me? Beautiful clear blue sky....

Afternoon all,

A mostly cloudy day here with the odd glimmer of sunshine. Had a light rain shower earlier this morning in which Mr Raven thought he had a reprieve at cutting the grass. No such luck and he's out there now building up a sweat spiteful.gif laugh.png

Hope you are all enjoying the bank holiday so far - it feels like a Sunday today (I had yesterday off work) so it's a nice feeling when I realise it's still Saturday and still have 2 more days off work good.gif

Right, I'm off to rescue Mini-Raven from a wasp that's flew in the window... wish me luck ph34r.png

Travelled to Brighton through some persistent rain and for about an hour here it was pretty wet and windy.  The rain has now stopped and the sun is out, but the wind is still whistling around the flat as we look out to sea.  Tide is nearly fully out resulting in a shallow and highly agitated sea foaming over the sand that at low tide you can walk on.  Talking of which...... see you later!

After a dry and sunny start (I even put the washing out), it has been a sunshine and showers (some quite heavy) day here (washing still out).

Back door open again and warm fresh air flooding in  good.gif

A crud day here in Eastbourne with almost constant rain and drizzle since 10.30am. Looks like the BBQ will get postponed until tomorrow if the sun finally makes it through! Must say this didn't show up on any charts :(

That sun I mentioned in my post at 13:34 quickly disappeared and drizzle descended, the wind remained strong and it felt really cold on the beach.  It has dried up now here in Brighton and the skies are brightening at last, but the wind is still throwing its weight around.

Hopefully tomorrow will see an improvement!

Had a nice day here in Bromley. Clouded over at times with a few spits and spots, but sadly, didn't rain enough to stop the chain gang working.

My daughter has a beautiful garden, and I am shattered lazy.gif

Good evening all.

Health problems led to me having to  cancel my planned trip to Hastings for The Jack in The Green Festival this weekend, but it sounds as though I may have dodged the bullet weather wise, judging by some of the reports from the South Coast I have seen here and elsewhere. Sorry for those of you who have suffered a let down in that respect today.

My initial dissapointment was more than compensated for by being able to spend a very pleasant afternoon in the company of one of my Sons and Grandaughters, down by The Thames at Windsor. It was a tad breezy, but the sun shone brightly, it didn't rain and it was a respectable 18c. We wandered  amongst the early Spring crowds, fed the ducks and swans and generally had some quality time together. Im too tired to download my photo's just yet.

Hopefully the rest of The Bank Holiday weather will be kinder to many of you, and I am sure you will all make the most of it.

Cheers. BB54 hi.gif

At about 7:30pm the skies in Brighton cleared, the wind eased a little and the sun put on its hat and jauntily nipped out to see us.

About half an hour later we were treated to the most extraordinary sunset as the sky slowly turned orange then dappled pink and it looked as though soneone had picked up a paint roller dipped in peach and crimson and rolled it erratically along the inside of a glass dome.  The wind has died away now, the sky is dark and the lights of the city and the pier are burning strongly and reflected in the sea.

Hi BB, south coast (at least in Brighton) has been, trying to put a positive spin on things, a little bracing today.  Your saturday sounds great though, family, sunshine, river, warmth (warmth is a feature of your posts BB, I always look out for them)

Cheers AS. I often look out for your posts too. Very descriptive.

It was relatively warm in Windsor today, tempered by a fairly strong breeze along the river, but enough UV's to have my recently shaved bonce glowing like a beacon again. Bad timing on my part.

I particularly enjoyed your report about this evenings sunset. It was very similar here in north west London, the colours were quite spectacular. I took a couple of photo's but downloading and posting them is not my strong point, though I will try.
