Quite a range of temperatures across the UK at the moment, with 24-26c across large parts of

England and Wales but only 12c across parts of Northern Scotland!

Impressive temps and dew points already today.

26/18 at Stansted

25/18 at Luton

15+ dew points widely across area of potential and temps climbing well so CAPE should be there for anything that can get going.

Could be some fantastic photos today if anything does get going.

Best of luck to anyone hoping for a storm.

Latest News 24 forecast has the focus for any storms across Yorkshire and Lincolnshire possibly Derby and Nottingham drifting into east Anglia later on with a chance on the sussex coast as well they think so most other places staying dry which is shown by Bobby on the previous page with the ECM storm forecast / prediction

very small chance of a storm at the Ashes test match

Got my fingers crossed here in MK, at 12pm the temp is 27.4'c with a Dp of 18'c, seems to be a slight wind convergence too only light but swinging from a NE back to W and so forth.

Streams are almost spot on with convergence.

PPN showing something later and with that kinda cape something could really pop up.

Estofex show a good risk in the same areas so im sure someone will be happy!

Very much a central / eastern event ( if any )

Yes I did and very useful it is but I am spending the day at home hopefully watch England crush the Aussies and as the forecast isn't for them to be that widespread so I hope to stay dry and according to the Latest News 24 forecast my odds I think are 60%-40% in my favour so here's hoping

Afternoon all, I might have suspected this thread would be busy today!

I just logged on to see what's happening as locally baby cumulus is popping up to my west and north. Does anyone to my north/west see more development?

By the way temp and humidity here are 29.4°c/50%

Lol indeed - plenty of time however. The atmosphere is so volatile - so much rising cumulus.

Plenty of cumulus popping up here but no sign of any significant height.

Temp and dp currently 28/15 here with cumulus building all around. It feels hot outside and I would imagine I may be in a well positioned place for this afternoon/evening. Possibly may need to travel slightly east, maybe locate myself near the M1/A610 for a good north to south or west to east route.

Currently hanging fire to see what looks to develop.

Started to haze over here now, typical, I've just turned over to toast my back and the sun is less torchworthy.

Anyway, 29.5c here according to the netatmo, which has also chucked in thunderstorm alert for this eve. Cape certainly looks juicy, and now a bit of a breeze has picked up from the river.....

Rapid cumulus buildup across the Midlands currently, this will sink south into Peterborough and leicester where I think most of the initiation will be focused.
