Wow Steve, my little 3 mile jaunt from Chislehurst to Bromley North felt long enough today. On the subject of walking in the N.W.Kent area, really enjoy doing the walk from Eynsford to Otford, via Shoreham, along the Darent Valley, very nice. That's a 10 mile round trip.

Have also done the walk from the top of Westerham Hill round to Eynsford, around about a 10 mile walk too, a few times. Lovely scenery on offer from the ridge of the North Downs around and down into the valley at Shoreham, would really recommend it!

Tom.

Well I shall be in North Kent for a weekend in early August - ostensibly to watch a football match in Gillingham - but the football usually the sits pretty low in my list of priorities.

I was thinking of finding some North Downs walks, so thanks for the tip.Posted Image

I remember walking and climbing on Dartmoor in 2010 and it was HOT (mid June) like this. *phew* but I learnt that I was fitter than I thought.

Very warm here now but still hazy sky. It would be lovely to have a storm later as I have the day (and night) to myself :)

Old forum I have not posted in or logged into for over a year have apprently tried to block me, which I guess is because of recent posts I have made here (as I know they read them), now does that seem petty to you?

*If I open the forum from other sites it opens fine, just my main IP appears to be blocked.

I get blocked too, mostly here and probably for good reasons!!! :whistling:

It's got to that sticky stage of the day here. I'm looking forward to seeing the factory in the rear view mirror and enjoying convivial socialising with appropriate refreshment for the season. Posted Image

Good afternoon all. A slight change in the weather here today with a lot more in the way of cloud and quite a breeze which has pegged temperatures back to 24c, but no complaints from me.

I can quite understand that the recent spell is not to everyones liking, but personally speaking, I have found the general low humidity coupled with reasonably cool overnight temperatures have led to conditions being more bearable than they might otherwise have been., even here in the suburbs of London.

Overnight minimums of say, 17-19c can be quite stifling, but throughout this spell the minimums here have been in the region of 12-14c, so nothing too oppressive from my point of view. Now if only we could have a thundery breakdown ( with apologies to some of our fellow forum members Posted Image ).

I feel a bit yukky today so I'm not my best. Does anyone else ever feel like that when a trip and meeting strangers is looming. It's very annoying and ridiculous. Posted Image I hate leaving my comfort zone with a passion.

Yes very much so K, and it's not at all ridiculous. I have always been a bit prone to anxiety issues, but since losing my job earlier this year my confidence is shot to ribbons, and I rarely venture outside these days. Sorry folks, entirely off topic there.

So....what do we think of the prospects for the next few days ?  There seems to be some mixed messages, but a general concensus it will remain fairly settled, mild/warmish and mostly dry ? That's fine by me Posted Image

Oh I think the next few days are going to be lovely, no mixed message coming through to me at all! :winky:

I'm expecting things to get very hot and sticky by the weekend - it would be perfect to have some nighttime action with plenty of flashes and bangs but I'm sure no matter what the weather I wont be left disappointed!

Well, according to my weather app...it's supposed to be hot in Manchester over the weekend. Hmm, no doubt some of the book excerpts will be. :D

Hi guys, another nice day here, a bit more in the way of cloud, but not too much. It's looking good for the weekend, and I'm thinking somewhere in our region should break the 30+ barrier, as the GFS shows somewhere maybe hitting 32C. Also looking decent next week too! We've not had any rain at all now I think for around 6 - 7 days!! Grass is starting to turn brown as well, and in my opinion this has been a great settled spell, long may it continue.

Stand by for the sequel folks. ' 60 shades of Blue' Posted Image

Which incidentally nicely describes the skies here this evening, and a breezy 22c. Very pleasant.

I think we should ban that bloody wind away from summer, fine in winter as it can bring snow but summer it's awful. Had to wear a jumper on the way back, i'd rather have the atlantic atleast it's warmer

A week of this so far but that's just this week, it's been on and off since last damn year

Sunny again here after some partly cloudy conditions earlier, think the cold front must have moved through as the wind feels quite cool. Temp 21C, not too shabby but was 25C this time yesterday.

Oh what a lovely day, just secured (blimey champagne must be strong wasn't just me but the whole team) my company future for at least another day, (oops meant year already the drink taking effect) I would go and get drunk but now have to go to Peterborough early tomorrow to work out how to contact 2 contracts won today and how many new staff i will need. Ain't it amazing I didn't think fridge plants where like buses, wait bloody ages and 2 come along together :-) couldn't work out how to put a bigger smile on the smiley face thing.

Beautiful night tonight, and even England not getting enough runs today didn't manage to upset me.

Evening all. Well the cloud had well and truly broken again by 5, so I had a nice sunny commute home. There is a nice breeze blowing now, and in the stronger gusts (if you can call it that) if feels quite cool.

Anyway after Steve C's post earlier on, on his almost marathon walk, I decided to stop wimping out of running (because of the heat) and put rubber to pavement. I done 7k in 35 mins which is one of my better times 😀. But unlike Steve, I didn't even think of replenishing my body of the sugar and salt lost by having a pot noodle...... Instead I headed to the fridge to take all the sugar nutrients out of an ice cold bottle of beer 😉. Have a great evening people... And I hope your cramp has eased now Steve ðŸ‘

Evening :)

Up to 23.6c late morning just before the cloud moved in. That burned off by half three and the un came out again pushing the temperature back up to 22.3c.

Chillier this evening though, down into the mid teens already!
