Any thunder around the coast?

There you go ld. Some brighter echos moving into Kent from latest radar returns.

I'm liking the track of that Kent storm, hoping it holds it's strength as it looks like crossing Eastern parts of East Anglia

Stormy looking sky to my east, brighter to the west. 22.4°, but still not a drop of rain since the overnight storms. (Despite what the radar and Rain Alarm are saying.)

Thought I just heard a rumble of thunder, heart jumped ten beats, and then saw the bloke opposite taking his wheelie bin in...

Area of rain approaching from the south towards my neck of the woods, no sign of any thunder or lightening though

I bet if it gives us 100 strikes a second, I'll still sleep through it!

really depends whether it's 5000ft up or we get some tasty CG strikes

Or of course exists all together

Well in canterbyry that was a let down! Not much rain and no thunder!

A wee bit of 'development' still required then?

Bye Bye storms! I think the energy was used up from the early hours into this morning, not surprising given the intensity of those strikes :D

GFS indicating some more stable air into the west side of the SE holding on to unstable air to our east-Kent/EA where I expect more thunderstorms overnight, some breaking out over Kent later I think. NAE indicating some disturbance(ppn) overnight this would be imported. An area lower dew points over the west side of our regions. Surface temps staying high though for many.

Just to show the lower dew points, still high to the east side UK:
(by the morning)

See the gap in the middle (central south) 16-17C dew points east, 12-13C in the middle.

Evening all. Well I bit the bullet and done my first 10k run in 2 weeks, due to the heat. I must say, after cooling down for the last 1.5hrs, it really does not feel to humid at all. If fact I just went into the garden and we have high whispy clouds and a nice gentle breeze and it feels very comfortable! My gut feeling is that no storms in my neck of the woods tonight, but after watching the BBC news weather, it looks like there is a chance.... I'm leaving this one up to the far more knowledgable people on here and the weather gods. Over and out peeps have a great evening, whatever the weather 😉

Yes, I think that people in the east may well see a light show, if nothing else, later tonight. :) There are also ample opportunities still for more decent storms before this all properly breaks (5-7 days or so?) imo.

I'm officially no longer interested in storms. I will now get over excited when there's a cold NE'ly and drizzle, at least that actually happens....

I'm highly doubtful of any storms tonight in the south east, even east kent!

The signs here are of a more stable atmosphere starting to take form
