That current live of activity seems to hold little eastwards component, and marginal NE component, suggesting slow moving storms for a while in the current area.

No direct hits yet and wondering if the best has passed? So close yet so far, thunder still occasionally rumbling away to the east.

Anything heading into hampshire as on phone and cant see where reports are from thanx in advance Posted Image

Not in your area, Basingstoke - Reading has a line of activity over it right now.

Line does stretch NE of Southampton, so it might eventually move into the Pompey area.

You, like us are in the clear right now.

Can hear rumbles to my southwest.  looks like it is heading for us rather than skirting around and heading for Bristol, we shall see.  Haven't had a decent storm here for years, probably 2005.

I have just heard a few closer rumbles from a dark cloud not very far away.

Have heard rumbles from this next batch of storms however they are skirting past Bristol which is a shame.

Any experts recognise this?

Not an expert, but it looks like 'scud'.

Hi Polar Bear,

We need a slight couple of degrees more Westerly in the flow and we'd be in business - in these circumstances a WSW flow does wonders for our region.

ola Jonesye.. Yep true - although i am happy if that WSW waits abit -  Rain is leaking through my ceiling at the mo at home ...which I discovered more last night as it poured through. So until it is fixed please! ......you dont mind do you waiting a little bit? It should be done by 4pm then WSW go for it...or abit before so the landlord can see it pouring through!

Keeping my eye on that cell in the Bristol Channel. Should get a decent view from work should it produce lightning when/if it gets here.

Gone quite dark here, rumbles of thunder more frequent and louder.
