Didn't look quite so bad until I had put the post up and then enlarged the picture! Certainly will be checking any salad on my plate closely from now on!

Quite interesting the low coming in later on today, as from recent fax charts it looks to be fully occluded, but is forecast to deepen further.

I guess there must have been a later infusion of a different air mass into its circulation to cause this? It must be quite unusual. Posted Image

hi steve

have a feeling these maybe what is fuelling these storms at present

but we still have cooler air around us so maybe they lose their kick over the cooler waters??

just a hunch though

Morning all.

Strewth. As much as I like foxes and urban wildlife I have been shaken from my slumber by the most horrendous cacophony of screaming from the blighters which went on for about 20 minutes.

On a weather note it seems most of Fridays rain passed to my south, and the current  forecasts seem to suggest that may be the case for much of the weekend. Sorry for those of you down that way, particularly on The Sunshine Coast Posted Image

Off to Rotherham soon, so won't post until tomorrow.

It looks like the south Coast and Norfolk will get the worst of this low, with gusts up to over 50mph later - actually Rotherham looks like it'll be more gusty than most of us on NMM model.

Here is the predicted track and intensity of the low on NMM this evening and overnight. It's not too good on the eyes, as dare I say it, the low looks a bit half cut! Posted Image

Morning all, hope everyone is fit and well, nice warm, sunny and bright morning here in dirty Dartford, not very happy as we not only got to go food shopping, but got to go over ruxley to see the Christmas decorations (great can't wait) then off to that horrible supermarket known as Tescos to see what Christmas special they got, would someone like to point out to my wife Christmas is a long way off (sorry I'm not brave enough)

Morning all

Quiet night here but 2 nights ago (or early mornings) was woken by a couple of foxes having a disagreement in the street outside, they sound like two strangled cats sh4gging!

On a weather related note it is a cold and damp morning here, washing in progress and not even going to think about hanging it outside today.

Morning Martin, morning all.

Not much sunshine today I'm afraid. Just a steady trickle of drizzle in leaden skies and the prospect of a lot of more serious rain to come in the next three days. 13mm already in the last 24 hours and we didn't really have much of a pour, so when the heavy stuff gets over here, going to have to watch the roads and rivers.

Been invited to a firework BBQ tonight but thankfully it's a 'grown ups' thing (not sure why I was invited then ) and there will be plenty of people on hand to do the outside stuff, while I watch from the comfort and safety of their conservatory with a burger in one hand and a drink in the other!

Have a good one whatever you're doing. :good:

As long as fireworks are done by about 8-9 tonight there won't be a problem otherwise straight up and down might happen lol! Met going for 50mph inland and stronger on the cost a good 20mph less than Monday but will still be noticeable for sure!

Met O say it could start getting gusty earlier:

On those numbers I better start my fireworks at 5pm or angle my rockets into the windPosted Image and that could make the River Ouse rise on Monday

Not stepped outside yet (working from home today) but have a couple of bags to put in the bin, looking out the window it appears to be anything other than inviting weather.
