Morning all! Currently 4c, calm, nae rain! We had just about everything yesterday, wind, sleet, hail, thunder & lightening and some snow on higher ground. The calm at the moment has me worried. I know it's gauny get a wee bit blawy especially on Xmas Eve, and I fully expect the power to go off at some point. Todays plan is to cook the wee roast birdie today then freeze it. I doubt I'll be able to roast any tatties, but got plenty other veg and stuff to fill the plates. See....always thinking of her stomach. Just hope when/if the power goes off it's not for too long. Dinnae want the freezers to defrost! Got them both packed wi' scran!

Hope people that are travelling up in the Highlands are prepared over the next 48hrs, many of the high routes will be impassable later today. Meaning they could be stuck for some considerable time, with blizzards and heavy snow forecast even down to low levels. With many travelling up there for Christmas not aware of the dangers.

This is getting kinda scary, isn't it?

Emailing young relatives to emphasise that if they're foolish enough to drive here on 23rd/24th then we're confiscating their keys and not letting them drive away again, so they're best off staying put in the first place...

Friday looking wild all over again, pretty surreal when you read U.S experts referring to this system making 'landfall'...

Mistyqueen I have an LPG cooker, big proper cooker, a Cannon- because we get frequent power cuts. And I've turned the freezer down to -25 to superfreeze all the stuff in there, in case it goes off, that way the stuff should stay frozen longer.  Posted Image

edited - not saying that to brag lol - meant when your cooker dies it might be an idea to buy one of them :)

Dirk? Not exactly festive, is it? You think they could have mustered up Rudolf? Or Donner and Blitzen? Must be that whacky German humour... ;-)>
