We're just on the edge of the heavy rain here seems to follow the coast from Southend to Clacton direction mainly... I see the Crouch and the Roach areas not that far from me are on alert - hopefully nothing will come of it though.

River nene on flood warning more widespread as todays rain has been falling in the vicinity of it since early this morning. Is getting dangerously high now.

I think for some areas 20mm could be a quite conservative estimation.

The other thing about this mild wet weather I really hate, is that we must spend as much money on gas and electricity as we would in a cold winter. I mean we have alway got the tumble drier or heating on to dry all the laundry. And trust me, as many of you will already know.... Having 6 & 4 yr old boys they somehow get through clothes like no tomorrow... Rant over LOL.

Managed to stay rain free most of the time I was out, started to come on again as I was coming back, put the rubbish out and whilst doing that I noticed a bucked I used only a few days ago has got over 2" of water in it (I emptied it only a few days ago after clearing the path), it is even protected by the fence a bit, so do wonder now what our recent rain totals will be overall.

There is talk of maybe high pressure trying to build in towards the end of next week. But on this thread JP is your man....

Hexden river which runs into the rother has just burst its banks for the hundredth time this month.. I also just saw water squirting two feet into the air out of a drain! There is water everywhere!

2nd weekend running the lead flashing has come up and soaked 2 rooms. Not going to be popular with the insurance company.

Any way to find out what the highest guest was near me last night?  60% of the road had their flashing ripped up.

Thats not good, is it lead flashing or the cheaper fast flash sticky stuff?

Frankly bonkers winter.

Nothing on the models to me points to cold or snow and we are moving at a rapid pace to spring.

Wind and rain. Granted impressive but not for us coldies!

It's the proper stuff, put on 20 years ago and never budged 'till last weekend, neighbours also have the real stuff.

Reverse precipitation....is that possible ? Evening all, I'm sure it was supposed to stop raining here at lunchtime today, someone obviously forgot to pass that information on to whoever turns the tap on and off - if it's like it again tomorrow I'm having a duvet day :-)

Just got soaking wet....

....well I was having a nice long and hot shower at the time :) and boy do I feel better for it, relaxed now.

Did glance out the window and rain appears to remain off for now, till tomorrow I suspect, may be another indoor day for me if it does.

Could be flood water getting into a power relay station if it on the ground at low level (it was on of the changes I heard mentioned on the news about the power cuts and they proposed flood defences for them or raising them higher off the ground).

thanks for the information, the lights did flicker here a few nights ago as well.
