Indeed a beautiful frosty day, I notice a halo around the moon tonight, my father would say it's a sign of a storm coming

Looks like you've been blown over already :)

Wasnt until around midday that the temp got above freezing here. Got up to 2.3c fell back to 0.3c earlier this evening and now at 1.8c. So now it will be back to our normal Atlantic weather for the time being after our short little cold snap.

Hopefully events in the strat will favour us sometime within the next few weeks.

Much milder very noticeably today, but as you all noted, a very beautiful cold few days and frigid nights. Nothing so glorious to report from the NWP for the time being either...

Loving this touted pattern change to much colder weather that was forecast for January! 15 degrees forecast today and no sign really of a cold spell next couple weeks at least. Shows the westher really does what it wants and models etc should not be considered more than 5-6 days out. But plenty of time left !! HNY to all

Happy new year to all.

Got up to 13.1c here earlier, mildest day so far this winter. I honestly thought a few weeks ago we might have had a good chance of having a white new year this year, well it couldnt be much milder today, utter garbage weather.

rotten start to the new year, blowing a houlie and incessant rain, a real sit by the fire day. a couple of cold nights coming up, the best we can get out of this weather pattern.

Happy new year everyone! A more seasonal feel today with a max of just 6.2C. Already quite chilly, down to 2.3C.

Will have to keep an eye out for comet Lovejoy during the month.

The drive (not cycle) to work this morning was 3 degrees and sleety rain. First winters precip in my area!

when is the comet due born??

Should be able to see it with the naked eye, provided you're away from light pollution.
