Been lurking the past week as i've been struck by the worst man flu that i've ever had! Not good. Anyways its good to see that we could have another cold shot incoming next week. Here's hoping anyway. As mentioned above we haven't had a decent northerly in a long time so would be nice to see one. There wasn't a drop of snow showing in the 06z then completely flipped on the 12z. Lets hope the trend continues.

If the Hirlam were to be believed then Donegal and Derry would be getting pasted with snow tonight, with sub-515 dm thicknesses across all of Ulster. However, it's completely erroneous, as its 12Z analysis showed 531 dm at around Castor Bay, but the actual radiosonde measured 542 dm! Caveat emtor!

Nice one Pom. Love wee surprises like that! Models still looking great this morning. Hopefully we don't see many downgrades. It looks like a classic northerly setting up with potentially something very cold and wintry setting in as we head in to February.

Lol.Not to often we hear of people getting fed up with snow. Well prepare yourself for plenty more if the models are telling the right storey.

I love it when posters on model thread mention N Ireland, snow and shovels in the same sentence!

I've just had a look at the precip charts again and they look even better today with snow right out to the end of the run! I know we should take these with a pinch of salt but we can't ignore them either. Lol. Really looking forward to seeing how this develops now!

I sometimes think I enjoy the build up to a potential event rather than the actual event, must say something about my nature lol. Anyway if anyone is doing it don't forget the national big bird count is on this weekend, and no not the big yellow camp one out of sesame street

This has to be the best post of the winter so far!! Lol. Quality stuff! :yahoo:  :yahoo:  :cold:

personally I have seen enough evidence to really not care either way as IMBY I won't see snowfall from anything other than an Easterly, if you live along the East Coast of England then I'd be getting excited about this, if you're in N.ireland I'd be getting my snow shovels ready
