Is it coming this way?

I don't think so. We're right on the edge here and it's slowly moving east, plus any CG's seem to be sporadic and random rather than concentrated in specific areas.

Lightningmaps. org down for anyone?

More storms mostly for SE England and Wales tonight, so something to definitely look forward to as the night goes on, so keeping my eye on developments:

Hasn't moved further east from what I can see...if anything it looks like it's creeping extremely slowly westwards

I looked out the window and can't see anything but can hear distant rumbles.

Looking again, you might be right. Nontheless, whatever the shift, it's almost negligible.

I'm surprised you're able to see so much, don't you live in S.E London now?

I live in NW Kent but very close to the SE London borders (DA2), I have been trying to change my avatar for months but the admin team can't seem to help :cray: - been watching the lightning for the past couple of hours (another flash as I type). I think I'm far enough away so the low level stratus/cumulus mess is not blocking the lightning - just been a continuous line of Cbs, like brilliantly bright flash bulbs.

Looks like another thunderstorm forming behind this latest one, increasing in activity. Awesome :D

Wow! Almost four hours of thunder and lightning! Still rumbling away now. That last cell to hit us was really intense with some of the heaviest rain I've ever witnessed along with some of the loudest rumbles, 3/4 of which being real deafening bangs.
And more to come?! :yahoo:

No it may not seem like it, but it's moving very very slowly east, more so north east

Thunder storm to my south west now :D

Storms appear to be slightly further west which are developing to our South...which is encouraging :D

Here is one of my photos. I think I have got a pancake stack feature with a possible funnel.

What time were these photos taken? Will have a look on the hi-res radar :)

Storms look likely tomorrow - estofex have a thunder area over the south of England, and google weather AND the iPhone weather thingmny concurr - so could be in for an exciting time over the next 24 hours.

About time we got some of these slow moving / stationary storms!

Been a fantastic few days here, non-stop downpours, some incredibly lively like early yesterday morning where it was thundering on and off from midnight until 9 in the morning! Some very, very deep rumbles of thunder that actually pushed stuff off my windowsills!

Here's a stack image from around 2am yesterday morning as a very lively storm pushed up the east side of the island providing a brilliant display!

I couldn't share this earlier because the lightning blew out my internet and it wasn't fixed all week, but we got a pretty nasty thunderstorm here on Monday the 6th...

Here's some distant lightning...

post-20640-0-22750200-1412979263_thumb.p

A considerably closer strike...

post-20640-0-13027800-1412979317_thumb.p

And a strike so close that I actually felt the shock in my leg (Here I am attempting to place the coat over the camera again as a makeshift rain cover)

Unfortunately raindrops on the lens messed with the focus of some strikes.

The storm also produced a lot of hail, so deep that the land around me was just completely white, these photos don't really do it justice

Here's the video of the storm, the thunder sounds great especially with headphones: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zfx1IfMhZ9Q
