Well said Jed. Top now casting nite ahead with plenty of potential. Mixed with the mighty Liverpool v Chelsea and a certain S Artois couldn't be better! Well unless the Missus gets the Agent Provocateur stuff on!!

Temp -0.8c and a few light snow grains falling.

Yes mate should be an exciting night ahead. I've managed to stay away from the radar up until now as knew it would be a very slow event to unfold plus want to be well rested for the evening/night ahead lol. Haha I'm listening to the football, the mighty leeds who are suprisingly 1-0 up :D

The band currently approaching south Yorkshire if you role back the past hour is growing, back building and intensifying. A sure sign it's slowing and stalling and starting to pivot West with the South Easterly winds setting in. Positive to see.

Aye top stuff from HC!

We're losing 1-0 and what a soft penalty! (It might not be my night after all....)

Leeds 1-0 up? Think your radio reception is breaking up mate with the amount of snow in the air..,,

Worrying reports in the Midlands thread as most are seeing only sleet or rain. Good to see radar showing precip intensifying though as it moves into Yorkshire. Hopefully remains as snow though.

The lights to the south of me in the medium distance have disappeared, either a blackout or a whiteout

look at the ppn gaining now towards Birmingham, will these two bands merge together?

still steady northwards progression on radar! Its marching onwards.

Whats the chances of the next lot of PPN, currently to our SW near south wales making it up here? I presume thats our next lot looking at the trajectory, as this band isnt very big!

Sadly being on the 8th floor of a hotel, my ability to lamppost watch is limited, but seems like a few flakes falling in Leeds city centre.

For those who were monitoring the Boxing day snow does this look like it could beat that ?

The snow on boxing day did seem to catch everybody out, this has been forecast for a few days now and the timing looks  spot on.

Suddenly getting heavier here, this front band needs to stall NOW.

It needs to stall and let other lot catch up or we could end up with sleety rain lower down like they've got further south.
